WIBu retaliating re the rude woman in the carpark

Yesterday morning I went to the supermarket. I was in a hurry as I had to finish a pavlova to take to a friends party. The supermarket was packed and traffic was standing waiting for spaces (one in one out). I was politely queueing when a driver got into her car just ahead of me obviously about to vacate a space. I waited behind the space indicating left that I was waiting . I gave her enough room and time to manoevre out. As she was doing this I saw an old woman in a bettered car behind me trying to squeeze down the inside to pass me and making it difficult for the other driver. I hooted as she almost scraped my car. To my disbelief she then swung into the space I had patiently waited for. I wound down my window to state the obvious that she was taking my space. She replied "so what" . I said you can't do that, we are all waiting". She relied I can do what I like. Two other drivers who had witnessed this also got out of cars to back me up. I was livid. In the end the parking warden came to sort it out. He pointed out another space ahead now empty and asked me to park in it. I did . I returned to speak to the other woman (aged about 80, dark glasses and very snotty). She continued to be rude when I repeated that her behaviour was unacceptable, and rude. After finishing my shopping 10 minutes later I was still very shaken up and angry. I tool a carton of cream from my bag and dribbled the word RUDE on her windscreen before driving off.

Some people are so holier than thou on here. I find it hard to believe sometimes.

MrsMeow · 26/08/2012 20:24

FFS come on people, it's not like the OP took a shit on Granny's windscreen!

OP, hilarious. I hope it really did happen, YANBU.

Viperidae · 26/08/2012 20:27

Some old people think they have a right to take precedence over others. A friend of mine was recently in a large queue for a bus which is often full enough that not everybody gets on. As the bus pulled up an old woman walked up to the bus stop, straight to the front of the queue and said "Let me through love, I'm a pensioner". She was shocked when the bus driver very politely informed her that people would get on in queueing order and even more shocked when he got a round of applause!

Some young people are rude and over-entitled and they tend to grow into old people who are just the same.

EnjoyResponsibly · 26/08/2012 20:28

The people on here saying they would/have keyed cars should be bloody ashamed of themselves.

I'm looking at a hundreds of £££ bill because some righteous c*nt took umbrage about my parking my taxed and insured vehicle in the street "their spot".

It's parking not squatting in your house. Have a grip.

Corygal · 26/08/2012 20:32

The old and rude are always the vilest. Don't rise to it.

HermioneE · 26/08/2012 20:33

Flora - ok so you hate people parking outside the lines. Presumably because it then makes it hard for you, next to them, to park inside your own box?

So if the person you keyed leaves, and I come along and key your car for being outside the lines, is that then ok? You are utterly unreasonable.

OP - on balance I think I admire your nerve Grin

Fiveflowers · 26/08/2012 20:46

If this is genuine...

OP, if this is how you respond to a minor irritation how on earth do you react when faced with real problems?

Your imaginary behaviour was disgusting and completely uncalled for.

When you are a mature adult, you have to learn to let some things go.

floranora · 26/08/2012 20:51

no I wouldn't park next to them, or I would just park perfectly inside my lines, regardless of if that then means they cannot get into their car.

I have done that before to someone, just parked in my lines and she couldn't then get into her car because of her shitty parking, so I came out of the shop to find her waiting for me.

floranora · 26/08/2012 20:53

MrsKeithRichards you seem to be getting your knickers in quite a twist, you are not by any chance a shit parker?

ShiftyFades · 26/08/2012 20:53

FloraNora you really are the scum of the earth. You are a criminal, you wilfully cause criminal damage to someone else's property?!! Hmm
I wonder if someone will recognise your precious GTI and think... Hmm, I've been next to that pile of shite car before and my car was keyed... I think I'll torch it for revenge Wink
You don't know why people are parking the way they do. They may be ill / have the shits and need to abandon or shit themselves... Maybe they should park properly and just shit on your car - I take it that would be acceptable?

twofingerstoGideon · 26/08/2012 20:53

Wow, Flora, you are SO clever!

ShellyBoobs · 26/08/2012 20:56

Flora, you sound like a total cunt.

OP, I like your style. Grin

floranora · 26/08/2012 21:01

ShiftyFades honest to god if someone actually shat on my car I think I would DIE laughing!

although in all honesty parking within the line is not really that hard, so regardless of shitting your pants, parking within the lines is not hard. doing all of that in the space, out the space, etc for hours really is not required, just line the bloody car up and drive forward?

if I find a shit of my car I will think of you ShityFades

Tiredmumno1 · 26/08/2012 21:02

Flora you have absolutely no idea as to why a car could be parked like that, you will have no idea of the circumstances as to why a car could be parked like that, because you weren't there when they parked.

I bet you don't hang around to get your comeuppance though eh?

Tiredmumno1 · 26/08/2012 21:03

Dunno why I repeated myself twice Grin maybe cos it's one of the most stupid things I have read

floranora · 26/08/2012 21:09

no and I honestly couldn't careless why they are parked like that!

of course I don't Tiredmumno1 you think I got all day to sit in a car park?

YusMilady · 26/08/2012 21:13

This the most depressing thread I've read for a long time. What happened to the notion of rising above life's petty irritations? Of responding with grace and tolerance? Of making the world a better place, not indulging in acts of petty, impulsive, vile behaviour. What disgusting examples some of you set your children.

NervousAt20 · 26/08/2012 21:15

Haha only read your OP but I don't blame you at all!! She'll think twice before she does that again Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 26/08/2012 21:15

Well then flora maybe you need to have a re think about how you handle things, especially if you like playing tit for tat, then why not wait for them so they can make a decision on how to handle your demented attitude, would I be right in saying you can give it but can't take it.

ShiftyFades · 26/08/2012 21:16

And sincerely hope someone does do that Flora.
I park perfectly, I find it easy. But I also suffer from IBS so if I need to find a loo quickly it has to be very quick....
Of course, now I know that I can add GTIs to acceptable places to take a dump Wink

Tiredmumno1 · 26/08/2012 21:16

Oh and btw karma is a bitch

Do cock off Mary Poppins! Grin

happydotcom · 26/08/2012 21:22

Lmao!!! At least it wasn't a p&c space :o

floranora · 26/08/2012 21:25

of course I can take it. if I park like a twat then feel free to key me!

if you can park perfectly then you have nothing to worry about do you shifty? like I said before it is not difficult to park 1st time between the lines, it doesn't take any longer. So it shouldn't matter for you have to shit ( or what ever other stupid excuses come up) it is still just one manoeuvre into the space if you do it properly.

CrispyCod · 26/08/2012 21:26

Last week at the supermarket, the car next to me had parked over the line forcing me to park into the next bay too. So, had that guy drove off and you had driven up floranora and seen that i wasn't parked within the lines, would you have keyed my car? Hmm
