Asking for red sauce or brown sauce is just WRONG

I don't ask for sauce. It's chavvy.

amybelle1990 · 25/08/2012 17:55

YABU- Daddies is an acceptable alternative to HP :P

It's red sauce and brown sauce and I don't care what brand it is.
If I wanted to sound posh I'd say tomato sauce, never ketchup it's so yank!

Hassled · 25/08/2012 17:58

On holiday we were offered red sauce with a burger. Said yes please. To (food-issues) DS2's horror, their red sauce is red on account of all the red peppers it's made from. Not a tomato involved.

So yes, you're right - red sauce is too vague. You need specifics with your condiments.

crackcrackcrak · 25/08/2012 18:00

Lisaro - I'm inclined to agree. I couldn't serve exp any food he didn't insist on at least 2 condiments on and I thought it was rude and a bit common. Bloody tomato sauce and salad cream with a pasty ffs then he'd lick the plate. Vomit

Debeez · 25/08/2012 18:00

Does your butler bring it without being asked Lisaro? Or is it the sauce, rather than the asking, you find to be beneath you?

lisaro · 25/08/2012 18:04

actually I was being lighthearted, There was meant to be a big grin on there but as you can see with the double post, something happened with my computer. Although I don't eat them or bring my children to have them on things other than say, Hot Dogs. So do lighten up, or go back to your Daily Mail.

SoleSource · 25/08/2012 18:06

Rock salt and organic balsamic vinegar please I ask for in the local fish and chip shop.

I'm sure that's not the first time you've accused me of reading the mail Lisaro. Would like a picture of me holding the Guardian? Would that put your mind at rest.

It's an awful word to use, just because you meant it as lighthearted doesn't mean it's a nice thing to say. You sound pretty Daily Mail yourself from what you've said. Ketchup only on hotdogs darlings!

BulldogDrummond · 25/08/2012 18:09

Hassled You are right. I would not ask for red sauce if I wanted tomato sauce. If I asked for 'red sauce', I might be served with chilli sauce and I wouldn't be able to eat my meal then well, not if I poured the sauce on.

lisaro · 25/08/2012 18:09

Lol, hit a nerve, Debeez?

I'm sorry you can call it what you like apart from Tommy K

SoleSource · 25/08/2012 18:12

Lidaro reads the Sunday Sport dontcha dear.

Debeez · 25/08/2012 18:13

Erm, no. I just don't understand how feeling digusted hearing people referred to as Chavs like you're so much better than them in humor or not means I love the Daily Heil.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 25/08/2012 18:15

Technically it's tomato ketchup, fruity sauce or mayo.

Only lea & perrins and hendesons relish are allowed to stand alone with their brand.

lisaro · 25/08/2012 18:17

Professional outrage! Do get over it. Anyway, I'm off, dinner time, no 'sauce'. Grin

Spuddybean · 25/08/2012 18:18

Tommy K and Red sauce are very wrong. It's ketchup or tomato sauce.

Brown sauce is just brown sauce tho, as i can't think of what it is without using a brand name - so it would be 'fruit, spice, vinegar and molasses sauce'? HP on eggs and Daddies on sausages by the way. HP is fruitier and Daddies is spicier. :)

Debeez · 25/08/2012 18:19

So no time to answer why you think I'm a DM reader? Shame. Enjoy your lunch. Have a PA Grin right back atcha!

SoleSource · 25/08/2012 18:25

I am off to read the DM. I havemonths to catch up on. It is tbe online version so not good for chip wrapping and sauce would leak through.

I used to love Tiger Sauce. Do they still make it?

crackcrackcrak · 25/08/2012 18:36

Tommy k is twee

PilgrimSoul · 25/08/2012 18:40

Brown sauce is called Chef sauce in Ireland, although I imagine it is not much used by Chefs.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 25/08/2012 18:42

I have an actual hard copy of The Daily Mail in my house right now, I am positively cowering with fear at the thought of being judged. I am really really scared.
