No thank you, I'm loving the late mornings! Grin

JumpingThroughHoops · 15/08/2012 17:48

Agree, I'd rather be at work than at home.

Littlebluetoo · 15/08/2012 17:49

Ours are... A bit. We get 5 weeks summer hols and 2 weeks for the Autumn term half term holiday (which is fabulous!).

ll31 · 15/08/2012 17:50

move to rep of ireland- 3 months hols for secondary, 9 wks for primary!

letseatgrandma · 15/08/2012 17:50

No! I love every minute of the summer holidays!

CatsInChaos · 15/08/2012 17:51

YANBU!!

Callisto · 15/08/2012 17:52

No. Too short as it is. Can't believe we are already half way through.

JustFabulous · 15/08/2012 17:54

We are half way through week 5 with about 2 more to go. It is okay but I am knackered!

Moshlingmummy · 15/08/2012 17:56

We get 8 weeks, I think it is too long, I would much rather the half terms were made 2 weeks each ...

Sparklingbrook · 15/08/2012 17:58

We have 6 1/2 weeks and it does seem like a long time, I assume the children are very rusty when they go back in September.

I think 4 weeks would be better. In terms of entertainment, holidays and finances.

We always have the first week having a lie in and nothing organised. Week 2 DH has off so it's busy, then Dh always has the last week off.

makeminearose · 15/08/2012 18:00

No! Loving all our outings and cuddles :)

Sparklingbrook · 15/08/2012 18:01

I have had a fair bit of bickering from my 2 this week make. Sad It is very wearing because it has all been over absolutely nothing.

Xayide · 15/08/2012 18:05

No - we wouldn't get a holiday away which we still have to look forward to assuming youngest doesn't come down with chickenpox which is going round which would mean I'd miss it as bet DH won't cancel despite us having insurance as his parents go the same time.

Mind you this is the second quite week we've had and they are very trying.

Xayide · 15/08/2012 18:05

The DC are very trying.

Xayide · 15/08/2012 18:06

quiet - honestly Blush.

MrsReiver · 15/08/2012 18:11

My DS is back to school next Tuesday - I'm going to miss him, the house is really quiet without him around. However I am due in March so perhaps I should enjoy the peace while it lasts!

wordfactory · 15/08/2012 18:12

Half way through week six here....another three to go.

You lot with only five or six in total are part timers I tell you Grin.

CockyPants · 15/08/2012 18:13

Roll on September...
Took DD to Zumba with me. She always comes to my Zumba class during the hols and all the other adults and instructor make huge fuss of her.
Moan moan moan refused to join in.
Took her to lunch at starfux. Got her favourite food and drink. Leaves most of it moan moan moan.
Torrential rain so I suggest Diary of a Wimpy Kid at cinema. Says yes. Bought her an overpriced scoop of ice cream. Moan moan moan. Left most of it.
Spent most of film wriggling round. Usually she is really well behaved. Told me loudly to stop it whenever I laughed.
Came out. Moan moan moan.
Moan moan moan. Cooked a Naice meal. Moan moan moan.
So, spent small fucking fortune trying to do Naice things with her. Not appreciated at all. I am so pissed off with the whole day.
So, my sweet DD please bugger off back to school.
YANBU.

CockyPants · 15/08/2012 18:14

BTW we are on week 6. 3 weeks left. I might actually kill myself.

CockyPants · 15/08/2012 18:15

Oh, and save for the jubilympics which DD watched avidly, I am so sick of Cbbc and Cbeebies.

CockyPants · 15/08/2012 18:16

Sorry. Needed to vent.

OwlLady · 15/08/2012 18:20

you want to try having a severely disabled child and useless social worker. I get 7 hours respite a month given whilst i am at work and I have two other children and no family close by to help and my husband works away

i thought about jumping out of my bedroom window yesterday quite seriously. It's hell

OwlLady · 15/08/2012 18:21

sorry I wasn't having a go at you cockypants, children are very testing when you are the main carer anyway

I just HATE this holiday it's way too long and I feel so desperate for all of it

CockyPants · 15/08/2012 18:24

No offence taken, owl lady. Reading your post, I don't know how you cope with your DH away too. Are night times any better, or are you up all the time?
