on holiday. No internet. No mobile signal. No sky TV.

DD2 is being weird and autistic about seaweed. DD1 is being teenage angsty and stressed about exam results. DH is breathing loudly.

I am drinking quite heavily and considering starting smoking again.

We're off to Dorset tomorrow, staying in a caravan. With OH, dd (7) and a ds (16 months) who wakes at 5am and doesn't sleep through. I'm slightly stressing about it!

GingerWrath · 14/08/2012 10:25

I live in Dorset, 3G exceptionally hit and miss!

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 14/08/2012 11:49

Its going to rain tomorrow. What the bloody hell should we do?

PurplePidjin · 14/08/2012 11:53

Depends where you are in Dorset. No use me suggesting stuff if you're 2 hours away in Kimmeridge!

Nagoo · 14/08/2012 12:05

We went away for a week, 5 seconds after we got in the door I was on MN, Dh on facebook and the 5YO was asking to watch Netflix.

Home sweet home Grin

Walk up to see Durdle Door - it's not too far from the car park (near Lulworth Cove), and is a gorgeous view!

DuffyMoon · 14/08/2012 13:06

ahem...rather sadly when searching for villas, the "must have" facilities are wifi Blush, UK TV Blush and pool. I know its a fucking disgrace and we should sit and chat to each other, relishing the time together as a family...but we dont

PurplePidjin · 14/08/2012 13:13

Merley Bird Gardens, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Swanage for amusement arcades/steam railway, Weymouth for Aquarium etc?

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 14/08/2012 13:14

Durdle door is beautiful. But not in the torrential rain forecast for tomorrow. Need something indoor. Maybe a stately home to inflict on them. Or i could dump them at the cinema and go to the pub again. Alone.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 14/08/2012 13:17

We sat about in companionable silence on various electric devices :o

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 14/08/2012 13:21

But the rain Pidj. The rain!!!!!!!!!!!
i can't do gardens in the rain.
Is sealife indoors?

Next year i'm not leaving it too late and we will be going somewhere hot. And dry.

How old do children need to be to be old enough to leave at home?

Go to Splashdown Waterpark in Poole?
It is in a big complex with cinema, bowling, KFC and other food outlets so could be a good sane day out?

frustratedpants · 14/08/2012 13:31

Weymouth carnival tomorrow?

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 14/08/2012 13:36

Pool would be hood excrpt DD2 doesn't do indoor swimming (think its the noise snf other people) although she might. I'll suggezt it.
Carnival good if not too wet. Think therez fireworks too. And maybe sealife too.

Good plan. May just stop me hitting the tequila at breakfast.

I'm liking bournemouth. We ended up here because the other trsin was csncelled. Sun and interney on the beach. And most importantly there is no seaweed.

We had a seaweed incident on saturday. It was orrid.

You're the wrong side of the county, and i don't have kids. Imwtrying!

What about Thomas Hardy stuff round Dorchester?

CrunchyFrog · 14/08/2012 13:42

I will confess to having muttered under my breath "stop being so bloody autistic" when Dealing With DS1.

In his defence, I probably shouldn't have taken him to a noisy, crowded air show. In mine, it's the only word that adequately covers the behaviour, he's not being rude, bloody-minded or naughty, he's being autistic.

Anyway, holidays with no wifi? Are you quite sane? I struggle with an hour in soft play without Internet!

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 14/08/2012 13:42

You are saving my sanity. I am eternally greatful Thanks

Things are sounding a bit brighter for you Taggie but what are you going to do about your DH's loud breathing?

Does he breathe loudly at home - or just on holiday?

Is it just breathing or.....sighing. I hate bloody sighing!!

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 14/08/2012 13:46

Anyway. I better do some cheerful interaction. Hope we go to the pub agsin later.

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 14/08/2012 13:48
