www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=5836031&langId=-1&categoryId=&searchTerm=rise&pageSize=20&refinements=category~[226988|-12552]

Utterly sick of mooching around in jeans and a shirt that are invariably slightly grubby, and then if we go to the pub, changing into a clean version of the same thing.

I want to feel pretty and girly, but although the pub is v posh in a v posh vllage (we live one village over, we are not posh but the LL is a friend of ours :o), is it still a bit much?

I love the dress and havent worn it yet, but as I say, I just want to feel ....I dunno......nice!

Btw, it is longer than that on me as I do not have model length legs :o

oooh, I like that a lot! It is a bit dressed up, but put it with ballet flats and act like it's not unusual. you might just be having a drink before dinner...

winterland · 11/08/2012 20:32

Go for it. Why the hell not. You can always dress it down with flats or flip flops or something. It's a gorgeous summery dress Smile

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:32

PPS, it was reduced to £20 in my local store, so if you like it dont buy it online!

It's lovely! Too nice for the pub really. But go for it!

DameEnidSpink · 11/08/2012 20:33

I'd say it looks a wee bit dressy for a drink in a village pub, but it wouldn't stop me from wearing it if I felt like it

DameEnidSpink · 11/08/2012 20:33

Lovely dress btw

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:33

I am a 14 so not sure I can get away with bare (white) legs and flats. Was thinking opaques.

Your dress is very pretty. I would go for it if I were you. Especially as you say the pub you are going to is posh Grin Wink

Nothing wrong with wanting to feel nice and girly :)

BlackberryIce · 11/08/2012 20:33

What is the actual colour? Can't quite decide if it's cream or more 'peachy pinkish'!

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 11/08/2012 20:34

Make sure the seat is clean before you sit down, it will show every mark!
It is lovely though Grin I'd make your DH take you somewhere special just so you can wear it Grin

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:34

Ah fuck it, will wear it!

Thanks guys :) The horsey set can look down on chavvy old me tonight if they like, I dont care!

Fabulous! Why not!

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:35

it is very pale peach, almost verging on a rich cream iykwim.

FannyMcNee · 11/08/2012 20:36

I would.

What's the worst someone's going to say? "She looks a bit overdressed."

...And?

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:36

Perhaps I should do a victory roll hairdo to go with it Wink

ChaoticismyLife · 11/08/2012 20:37

Wear it, don't worry about what other's think.

It's a lovely dress.

Birdsgottafly · 11/08/2012 20:37

I dress up to suit me, even if i am just going the pub.

That wouldn't be overdressed for the pubs that i drink in around Liverpool and they aren't particulary dressy pubs.

But i have noticed that in other towns, people don't seem to dress to go out.

Unless it was an all dayer i would go the pub in jeans, that aren't 'dressey' jeans and a dressy top.

Olympicpark · 11/08/2012 20:38

It s lovely, wear it!

yellowraincoat · 11/08/2012 20:40

Life's too short to worry about being too dressed up. Go for it OP.

stressheaderic · 11/08/2012 20:42

Move to Liverpool, if you wore that with killer heels to take the kids to the park, no-one would bat an eyelid.

Seriously, it's a lovely dress.

TheonlyWayisGerard · 11/08/2012 20:42

I'd rather be overdressed than overlooked Wink
It's lovely, I'd wear it to a posh pub.

yellowraincoat · 11/08/2012 20:44

stressheaderic It's true, isn't it? Same in Glasgow. In London, everyone's in clubs with jeans and brogues and while it is nice in some ways, I wish I wasn't always the glammest person there (if I am going glam that day.)

bogeyface · 11/08/2012 20:45

I have now adopted that phrase Theonlyway :o

Thanks all. off to get me slap on, no point in a posh frock without a posh(ish) face!

ChocolateHips · 11/08/2012 20:46

I luff it!
