Ok first off sorry for typos I'm on my phone.

DD2 just came in from the garden saying girl next door wants her to go round and play because she's on her own. so I popped out and according to child ( lets call her daisy) her mum dad and brother have gone for a walk without her and told her to stay in the house.

She won't come round here as she's been told not to leave the house, at 5 has no real knowledge of how long they have been etc and I can't leave my house too much as I have 3DCs with me.

My plan is to knock every 5 minutes for the next half hour and then panic or sit with DC in the street until and her at the door until parents arrive. any better ideas? I don't know if I'm panicing and should ignore but surely at 5 Daisys too young to be left.

Well done and thank goodness she has a nice gran.

butisthismyname · 11/08/2012 19:37

so are the parents actually home yet?

LemonBreeland · 11/08/2012 19:37

Well done Ana. Glad the Granny is sensible too and didn't just think it was okay. Especially good that Granny backed you calling the police. I'd love to know what the parents and other child are doing.

DameEnidSpink · 11/08/2012 19:38

Well done Ana you totally did the right thing

madda · 11/08/2012 19:41

Blimey, I think the Grandma's reaction says it all, these parents are just completely clueless and/or deliberately neglegent Sad

ChocolateHips · 11/08/2012 19:44

Totally off topic but Grin at everyone calling you Ana and not Anal.

Back to thread, what kind of stupid parents are they! it's nearly 8pm FGS! And if the nan hadn't called would they have evencome back? It begs the question, how many times has this been done before?

AnaIsAlwaysShocked · 11/08/2012 19:44

No no sign of parents. Their cars here but I don't know if they've walked to grandmas or still out and avoiding any police or have no reason to comeback now.

Seems like there's a bit of history there then. I can't imagine a mum saying, "Call the police" when they could come round and pick up the child and try to work out what had happened. Obviously got form, as we say.

chocolate Grin Grin

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 19:52

Only scenario I can think of is they left her playing out with another child on the street and a misunderstanding meant that the other parent thought they were sending her hone to her parents iyswim. Still no defence.

ChocolateHips · 11/08/2012 19:53

Oooops Blush

Inmy defence, DP works away during the week....

8175looselipssinkships · 11/08/2012 19:53

Imperial thats what my husband thought as well - he was really puzzled as why they would take one child and not the other.

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 19:54

Actually no , if my mum rang Amd found 5yo ds alone she would assume it was an absolute lifw and death emergency or a huge mistake. The fact this grandma's first reaction was anger says a lot

AnaIsAlwaysShocked · 11/08/2012 19:56

Yes Daisy said they had gone for a walk. I wouldn't have questioned the noise from the house unless she had told us she was alone because of the car being there.

We are on the edge of town so who knows if the went into town or had a countryside walk.
