You probably don't need a Freedom Bus Pass.
Prat!

Sorry, but getting on the bus, claiming you've forgotten your Freedom Pass and then trying to pay a £2.50 bus fare with a freshly printed twenty pound note peeled ostentatioulsly from the thickest roll of the things I have ever seen and then having an argument with the driver about not having anything smaller does not garner any sympathy.

He did not appear to be disabled, was not in obvious pain, and actually ran for the bus.
I do understand the concept of concealed disablities, but really!

Would a wheel barrow of money take first priority over a wheelchair user or a buggy, that's the question.

bamboostalks · 09/08/2012 16:42

He sounds like a dickhead to me.

Whirliwig72 · 09/08/2012 16:43

Reminds me of an elderly director I once worked for who was absolutely loaded but insisted on me trying to wangle him a seat on a Dial a Ride rather than pay out for the executive cars he took everywhere Hmm.

He had me call a hotel he stayed I'm the South of France to quibble over a small (a few euros) inconsistency on one of his drinks bills - tight arse! Grin

So it is agreed then that roll of cash is a monkey and therefore a lot more than the pony a pony which is unreasonable t offer as a fair but not as much as an archer which would leave to big a bulge in the pocket.

RubyVaultingGates · 09/08/2012 17:47

But I don't think Ponies are allowed on buses. Unless they're guide ponies. Monkies used as helper monkies probably are. Wink

The wodge/ or block was folded once. If it wasn't his he was waving it about in an awfully cavalier manner. If it was a "block" it was frightfully artistically done. V. convincing.

Fortunately he had roomy trackies on which helped hide the bulge.

Thank's for the biscuit Glass it'll go with my wind-down cuppa.

So you reckon is was more than a rio in his rubber band then. You'd think if he had a decent pair of claire raynors to go with his basemant jaxx's that he could run for the unlcel gus he would have had a beer voucher or some shrapnel loose in his davey crocket.

I mean it wouldn't need to be maggie but some half bars or an edge piece is always easy to have.

Well if it was a bernie I'm sure he better watchout some blagger doesn't take him for an alphonse and try a bit of apple bobbing in his sky rocket when he's on his tobleron. Know what I mean guv'.

They roll your winnings for you at betting shops. He probably had a big win.

AMigratingCoconutsPersonalBest · 09/08/2012 18:23

of course, the response here on MN is entirely based on what you have chosen to tell us about the incident...because none of us was actually there except you.

So...if what most fastinates you about all of this is how different the MN response is to real life...perhaps you should consider if this is down to the way you communicate. A bit of thought to your communication skills might not go amiss..

HTH

NovackNGood · 09/08/2012 18:26

Ah forget about the cream coookies or maybe we has a new jammy dodger but we can be sure it's not from the jam roll.

The thing is ruby your focus on the Freedom Pass in the op was a red herring.

Really you and the rest of the bus were rolling eyes and tutting about a flash git in baggy track suit with huge amount of cash, flashing it and trying to draw attention to himself with a poor attempt of humour while winding up bus driver.
thereby holding up bus on a hot sunny day.
I would have Smirked too.

But you talked about someone with a Freedom Pass who you didn't think was entitled to one as he had loadsamoney.

So yes, it is down to perceptions. But the "typical MN response" you expected was only because you quite misrepresented the situation initially.
