hate jewellery on men, watch and wedding ring, fine (before kate and will's wedding it never occured to me that some men don't wear wedding rings Blush).
nothing wrong with yellow gold generally though. i have a yellow gold band for my wedding ring and a yellow gold engagement ring. i also have a couple of very classic bits of yellow gold jewellery inherited from my great-grandma (a thin chain with a ruby encased in gold and a sapphire and diamond ring - not that i'm bragging). i'm a red-head though so it suits me, i agree it doesn't suit everyone.
thick gold chains are a no on everyone.

Hmmm.

I wear a plain silver wedding ring, dw and I being of the pagan persuasion and silver being a suitably Lunar metal. On my right hand I wear a ring with rune symbols and pentagrams on it, but it's not ostentatious because it's very narrow.

I wear a Fossil watch, and sorry, it has a metal strap. Occasionally I wear a narrow silver chain around my neck, or one of those with the cylindrical wooden beads.

Is all that OK? Or should I change my style? Grin

cantspel · 08/08/2012 13:58

RuthlessBaggage you dont wear a rosary. They are pray beads and i hate the fasion where people are wearing them as a fashion necvklace.

squoosh · 08/08/2012 13:59

Personally I can't stand jewellery on men, aside from a watch. Turns me right off.

The one earring trend was bad enough but the two earring trend, and with diamond cubic zirconia studs. Ugh!
Chains, bracelets, rings (aside from wedding ring) ditch it all boys!
And as for rosary beads being worn as necklaces, I cringe!

squoosh · 08/08/2012 14:01

Exactly. Rosary beads aren't even meant to be worn around the neck. Most holy people wear them at their waist.

I think David Beckham started that one, as he started so many dodgy male fashion trends.

eurochick · 08/08/2012 14:02

Most jewellery on men looks vile. They should stick to a tasteful watch and wedding ring 9if applicable).

YellowFlyingPineapple · 08/08/2012 14:05

Jewellery on men a huge no no IMHO, DH wears a very nice watch he got for his 21st nothing else I would have raised an eyebrow if he had wanted a wedding band I can't bear them on men at all.

dranksinatra · 08/08/2012 14:05

You are.
Each to their own...

cantspel · 08/08/2012 14:06

I have a pet hate of young men (and women) who wear those tunnel things in their ears. Looks revolting.

NarkedRaspberry · 08/08/2012 14:13

The bangle worn by Sikhs is called a Kara.

I'm of the nice watch and wedding ring only school of thought when it comes to men.

NarkedRaspberry · 08/08/2012 14:14

And I don't like yellow gold on men. Or women actually.

nomorethan2thankyou · 08/08/2012 14:15

cantspel i agree. i know someone who used to boast that she had expanded the hole so much that her boyfriend could fit his erect penis in it.
gross, gross, gross (but felt the need to share anyway)

cantspel · 08/08/2012 14:19

why would anyone what to do that????
And even if you did have a secret craving for ear sex why would you then share the info?

I am going to be wondering now everytime i see someone with a large tunnel what objects they have tried to slip through it

alienreflux · 08/08/2012 14:20

cantspel, im with you on the tunnel things, am working with a kid whos main aim in life is to get his 'tunnel ' big enough to fit a weed grinder in!! good to have ambition i spose!! as for 'normal' jewellery on men, i'm not a fan either, but there's always exceptions, some silver bracelets look nice on a tanned young man! i don't know, my oh doesn't wear any, (he's got a nice watch though!)

Ephiny · 08/08/2012 14:21

WTF? I can't even imagine how that would work - either she must have had enormous ear-lobes to stretch that far, or the boyfriend was not particularly well-endowed!

alienreflux · 08/08/2012 14:22

morethan2thankyou!!?? WTF?!!! that has actually made me baulk

LRDtheFeministDragon · 08/08/2012 14:22

I don't see the difference between jewellery on men or jewellery on women. Personally piercings make me queasy because I'm a squeamish weirdo, and I'm not wild about yellow gold.

DH, OTOH, jangles when he walks. He has a much fancier wedding ring than me, wears his engagement ring from time to time which I don't, and always wears a chain with a cross and his name-saint medal on it (but under his clothes so you'd only notice if you were really looking.

nomore - yep, that makes me really, really queasy. I don't even really like to look at earrings ... I know that's my personal issue, but I really don't like to think about them.

squoosh · 08/08/2012 14:23

hard cocks in ear lobe holes!

There's a whole world of holes out there I've never even thought about!

wankpants · 08/08/2012 14:26

Pinky rings make me shudder.

Men's signet rings are HIDEOUS.

Not generally a fan of jewellery on men.

mayorquimby · 08/08/2012 14:26

Decent watch and that's it.
I can understand wearing a wedding ring but I still think it looks awful.
It's cultural, I used to work in the Caribbean and it was us expats who are different as all the locals will have a chain and a bracelet at least

LST · 08/08/2012 14:29

I used to have a 15 mm tunnel Blush

wankpants · 08/08/2012 14:29

Ooo those tunnels are awful. Can you imagine the state of their ears when they get over that phase of their lives? Big saggy pat butcher ears.

wankpants · 08/08/2012 14:29

LST is your ear saggy or does it go to normal?
