pegging shirts - please settle an argument for me!

mil (lovely lovely person) says peg at hem.
I peg at shoulders.

my reasons

  • I don't have a line, only a wing airer so long arms would dreg on the floor
  • the fabric gets streched too much with the weight of the arms pulling down

Hang on clothes hanger, hook hanger over the line.

Hem as DP tucks his shirts in and i can get quite often get away with not ironing them. But obviously you can't do that if they are going to drag on the floor.

I find it's best to dry a shirt on a plastic hanger - it keeps it's shape and is easier to iron, especially if you give it a quick tug down the length and across the arms to pull out the creases while it's still wet.

Windy days can be a problem, but you can peg the top of the hanger...
