Well, precious second born after a long gap.

My friend brought her eight month old baby round today. He played in my three week old baby's baby gym thing....and I thought "oh! Don't dribble on the giraffe! Precious second born hasn't played with it yet!"

HHmm, not bad, although there is an MNer out there who rubbed baby shampoo in her eyes to make sure it really doesn't sting.

MammaTJ · 02/08/2012 22:17

Saved me a job!!

However, I have a gap of 10 years between PFB and PSB, I may have been equally precious just as protective!!!

WorraLiberty · 02/08/2012 22:17

"Don't dribble on the giraffe" sounds like a dirty euphemism...or is that just my mind? Blush

Smile congrats on your new baby

hairytale · 02/08/2012 22:18

Seems fairly sensible to me. I didn't let my newborn play with anything with other peoples bodily fluids on.

MamaMumra · 02/08/2012 22:18

Ha! Worra!

MamaMumra · 02/08/2012 22:19

Worra not idea

Cathycomehome · 02/08/2012 22:20

Grin at worra...

Never thought I'd ever have occasion to think "don't dribble etc" ....

Did autocorrect turn me into an idea? Shock

Cathycomehome · 02/08/2012 22:26

Oh, yeah, and I definitely haven't been washing brand new clothes before he wears them, definitely not, that would be crazy...

TheSurgeonsMate · 02/08/2012 22:29

Have you, though, sterilised the steriliser?

Cathycomehome · 02/08/2012 22:30

Ahem... Doesn't everyone? Wink

rhondajean · 02/08/2012 22:35

You are Ctually supposed to wash Thr brand new clothes before you use them. Something to do with the chemicals used in production. So not too pf/sb.

MrsKeithRichards · 02/08/2012 22:38

Someone actually put shampoo in their eyes?!!

Did they piss in a nappy to make sure that worked?!

DilysPrice · 02/08/2012 22:39

I'd say that pre-washing baby clothes is not too PFB - it's standard advice (and that bloke on House nearly died from New Jeans Poisoning).

Cathycomehome · 02/08/2012 22:45

I didn't know that pre washing baby clothes wa A Good Idea! Feel validated now! My older son is 12 this month, and I never was like this with him. I'm either a more conscientious parent now, or the Internet has made me precious

I've never washed new baby clothes, or any new clothes. My children all seemed to have survived my neglect...

My DH was really quite upset that I let my friends baby sit in our unborn DD's bouncy chair. He said it made it second hand. Hmm He'#s never quite forgiven me for it. What made it worse was that DD wouldn't even sit in the bouncy chair and only used it a handful of times.

helenthemadex · 02/08/2012 22:49

doesnt sound to precious to me

DilysPrice I thought one of them did but they were from the back of a lorry not Next or Mothercare

fortifiedwithtea · 02/08/2012 22:58

Pre-washing baby clothes is something my mother insisted I do. So of course I ignored her,

However, MW lectured all of us on ante-natal course on the sins of using baby wipes on pfb. Basically said wipe your tough old arse with one and decide whether you should use them on delicate skin.

So yes I did wipe my bum with a baby wipe and took her advise. Baby bums cleaned up with damp cotton wool instead.

Flyingwithoutwings · 02/08/2012 23:21

I'd love to piss in a nappy, just haven't been pissed enough to do it yet, bet they hold more than Tena disposable pants Blush
Please tell me that at least one MNer has done this Wink

Ilovejellysweets · 02/08/2012 23:57

I heard of a mammy who was caught short in her car and used her baby's nappy. Well actually officer .....

ginhag · 03/08/2012 00:01

So pfb hadn't already licked psb's face by then? Because you give up fretting about dribble after that...

babylann · 03/08/2012 00:02

I swear there was someone on here a few months ago who said she'd had a wee in a baby's nappy when she was camping to avoid having to walk over the communal toilets from her tent in the middle of the night.

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 03/08/2012 00:04

I was talking to DH once about taking the piss out of a mum at play group still cutting up fruit for a much older baby. Until he reminded me that I cut up and peeled my pfb's grapes when she was little. DC2 was BLW straight onto allsorts. Selective memory Blush
