Well, precious second born after a long gap.

My friend brought her eight month old baby round today. He played in my three week old baby's baby gym thing....and I thought "oh! Don't dribble on the giraffe! Precious second born hasn't played with it yet!"

hands self a biscuit

Not pfb exactly, but my mum used to try the cat's medicine to make sure it tasted nice!

How she never poisoned herself...Confused

DappyHays · 03/08/2012 15:32

I gave my Dmum instructions on the correct way to butter toast for DD1 when she was at the finger food stage...making sure all edges were covered in butter.

CheerMum · 03/08/2012 15:34

I wanted to make all of dd's food for her first year. For the first four months it was fine as I BF but then I started to wean her. I would spend Saturday boiling up all varieties of fruit and veg, pureeing it then putting it into ice cube trays to freeze. At six months I also introduced chicken pork and beef, ground up fine like flour.
When she was six months old I had to have an operation to remove an ovarian cyst and was told I would have to spend many weeks doing not a lot. So.....I spent the week before my op making ice cubes, bagging them up into meal bags and freezing them. Every day had a lunch and a dinner option, each meal with 1 meat, 1 potato/sweet potato/ground up rice, 1 orange veg, 1 white veg and 1 green veg, followed by a combo of 3 different fruits for dessert. Each day was different. I did a spreadsheet to make sure she didn't get the same combo within 3 days.
Our freezer was too small so I had to bag up four weeks worth and send it round to my dad who agreed to bring a bag around each week.

I admit it! I have pissed in a nappy before and posted on MN about it! And yes, it was more like 2 nappies and a bit on the car seat Blush
So, who wants to buy an ancient Peugeot 406, one not so careful or continent apparently lady owner? :)

My favorite pfb story was the mum who was worried about her pfb being allergic to strawberries (no allergy history iirc) so took her to just outside a hospital to try them!

Cluffyfunt · 03/08/2012 16:11

I rubbed baby shampoo in my eyes to see if it really was 'no more tears'.
I have swallowed top to toe wash to check for poisoning.
I used to boil wash Moses basket sheets daily and sterilise dummies that touched said sheet Confused Blush Blush

I also had special nipple spray ( coz I couldn't boil my nipples) and considered using nippe shields purely to protect DS from any germs that. Y hot showers and spray didn't kill.

Mental.

CockyPants · 03/08/2012 16:22

Think I can out pfb you....
Mum of one DD now 6.
I only give her cooled boiled water.
I dip her knife fork spoon in boiling water to sterilise.
I feed her.
I wipe her poohy bum.
Think I need to get out more Blush Blush Blush

CockyPants · 03/08/2012 16:23

Awaits flames from MN....

bogeyface · 03/08/2012 16:34

Why do you do all that Cocky?

What do you think will happen if you dont sterilise her utensils or give her water from the tap? What about when you eat out?

Not flaming, but very curious as to why on earth you would do that! My DD is six and you would probably faint if you came here! As for feeding her and wiping her bum, well that does deserve a Biscuit, sorry.

DrowninginDuplo · 03/08/2012 16:51

And we have a winner, cockypants!

Out of curiousity how do you cope in a restaurant? Do you take your own cutlery and water for her?

Any I have a spare grip here if you would like it. Grin

DrowninginDuplo · 03/08/2012 16:52

That should have been anyway rather than any Blush

HeadfirstOverTheHighJump · 03/08/2012 17:03

Another nappy pisser here. I was pregnant and we were stuck in the car halfway around west Midland Safari Park and I was desperate. Using one of dd2's nappies seemed safer than squatting behind a bush in the lion enclosure Grin

CockyPants · 03/08/2012 17:13

At school she feeds herself and uses the loo alone.
Although she did ask reception TA to feed her when she started school...
I am just a mug, and she is a bit entitled!!!

CockyPants · 03/08/2012 17:14

TA for the biscuit, had a power cut here for 4 hours so haven't eaten yet....

CockyPants · 03/08/2012 17:17

DD was v ill after birth, and again at 18 months old, she was in hospital for a couple of weeks. Probably makes me over anxious.

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 03/08/2012 18:35

No offence Cocky.. But you either need to get a grip or see a doctor.

WilsonFrickett · 03/08/2012 18:49

But bogey treacle = sugar so there was none of that in my recipie. Do you want me to poison my PFB with sugar? Well do you?

From memory, organic pinto beans (but of course). Zzuzhed up tomatoes, finely chopped onions and peppers and bake in a low oven for a couple of hours. With no sugar or salt I can not advise making these for anyone with taste buds.

ebaymad · 03/08/2012 18:56

When i had my first i wouldn't let anybody take a photo of him in hospital, i was convinced the flash would hurt his eyes...

bogeyface · 03/08/2012 19:00

:o Fairy nuff, I wouldnt want you to be responsible for a grain of sugar getting into your PFB!

I remember that it was haricot beans, non zhuzhed tomatoes, no onion or peppers, some black treacle and I cant remember the rest! Tastes AMAZING if you cook a gammon joint with them at the same time!

I will have to find that damned recipe!

WilsonFrickett · 03/08/2012 19:26

In the (wild wild) west they used to bake the beans with a ham joint. That would probably be vair nice actually, that and the black treacle. Salt and sweet.

bogeyface · 03/08/2012 20:42

It is vair nice. Would be the ultimate in naice ham if only i could find the fucking recipe!

BigRedIndiaRubberBall · 03/08/2012 22:44

bogeyface google Boston Baked Beans, that's what you're after.

I too have conveniently forgotten my PFB deeds - but my SIL still wipes my 18-month-old niece's pfb bum with cotton wool and water. She has her own water in a Tupperware box, so I can only assume it's cooled boiled water.

gallifrey · 05/08/2012 14:37

Not sure if this is ott or just sensible, but I didn't want to give my 13 month old peanut butter for the first time while we were on holiday just in case she was allergic and I didn't know where the nearest hospital was!

scubastevie · 05/08/2012 15:21

Loving these, more please Grin

Aboutlastnight · 05/08/2012 15:36

Cheermum

Am Shock at your organisational skills. I would have just bought a load of jars and told DP not to put salt on DD1's chips Blush

CheerMum · 05/08/2012 15:46

I suspect I would have been a tad more chilled if the arsey health visitor hadn't been quite dismissive of my efforts and stated that there was no way I would be able to continue giving dd home made food after my operation. I am a little stubborn hehe
