To think my DH is possibly the most disgusting man on the planet?

One of his favourite delicacies is Marmite, which is fine, as long as he doesn't come near me until he has brushed his teeth and gargled with disinfectant.

However the vile man just can't stop there, he has discovered Cold Curry on hot buttered toast with or without Marmite and also cold chilli con carne on toast.

I am willing to accept that things could be worse, his disgusting habits could stretch to biting his toenails, picking his nose analysing it then eating it but I feel he has pushed things to far with this mornings choice of breakfast.

Hot buttered crumpet with cheese, not just any cheese but good quality special reserve Lancashire cheese.

ATM I am having trouble looking it at him, how could the man I love stoop to this level!

Is he truly vile or AIBU? Smile

vile

ChaoticismyLife · 29/07/2012 09:48

It could have been worse, it could have been M&S cheese Grin

YANBU cold curry on hot toast Hmm

poorbuthappy · 29/07/2012 09:48

Mmmm hot buttered crumpet with marmite and cheese sounds perfect.

LaurieFairyCake · 29/07/2012 09:49

I was with you til you got to the crumpet with harmless cheese

that sounds nice Grin

BedHog · 29/07/2012 09:50

He's vile - crumpets are made from carpet underlay, how anyone can enjoy them is beyond me!

(I have been known to eat a slice of corned beef sandwiched in a custard cream though, so what do I know?!)

Binkyridesagain · 29/07/2012 09:51

ATM the board seems to be divided.

Why do people feel the need to play with perfection? There is nothing that can beat a crumpet dripping with butter, it does not need anything added!

Cheese & crumpet= awesome. Especially with strong flavoured cheese.

YABU!

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 29/07/2012 09:52

How about a bowl of pasta with tomato soup on top?

Boiled rice with boiled mushrooms and marrowfat peas?

Boiled eggs you could knock someone out with they are so hard?

Or fried eggs you could use as a scoured they're so crispy?

Jacket potato with boiled rice, beans and super noodles?

Tuna and ketchup in a bowl?

Eggs, Tuna and salad cream in a bowl?

Kedgeree with ketchup?

My dh eats like a lazy teenager. Rank.

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 29/07/2012 09:53

But crumpets and cheese is nice Grin

Catkinsthecatinthehat · 29/07/2012 09:53

Leave the bastard! Grin

RaisinDEritrea · 29/07/2012 09:54

Binky, I cannot decide if YANBU or YABU, because crumpets with cheese, spesh really tasty cheddar with the crunchy bits are DELISH but curry on toast is just ODD

Binkyridesagain · 29/07/2012 09:54

Oh mine is awful with food if given half a chance. For example this morning he appeared at the table with cheese on toast - with mayo! Bleugh.

He loves chilli con carne on toast, I won't mention that curry thing to him else that will also be happening.

Yuck yuck.

QOD007 · 29/07/2012 09:57

Cheese on toast with mayo? What's wrong with that?

picnicbasketcase · 29/07/2012 09:58

I can't get on board with the idea of something savoury on a crumpet. Jam or honey are the only acceptable additions.

Cold curry on toast though. Jesus. I suppose it's like that Toast Toppers stuff you used to get in the 80s. Looked revolting. Do they still make that?

HecateHarshPants · 29/07/2012 09:58

Good god. Is he pregnant?
Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 29/07/2012 09:59

QOD - for breakfast??? I also loathe mayo Grin

CouthyMow · 29/07/2012 10:02

My Ex eats cheese and JAM sandwiches. Together. In the same sandwich. Bleurgh.

CouthyMow · 29/07/2012 10:04

God those toast toppers things looked, smelt and tasted like vomit. Who the hell wants vomit on toast for breakfast. My dad thought they were the bees knees and couldn't understand why I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 29/07/2012 10:04

DP will eat all sorts of crap left to his own devices .
tinned meatballs and savoury rice
super noodles and tinned hot dog sausages
rustlers burgers
breakfast in a can

The annoying thing is he's a great cook when he can be bothered, he's just lazy.

And he puts ketchup on everything - grrrr

waterlego6064 · 29/07/2012 10:08

Oooh yes, strong cheese on a crumpet = awesome.

Cheese+mayo = surfeit of lardiness.

Sandwich spread on toast = rather good.

QOD007 · 29/07/2012 10:08

Ha I just noticed my Olympics name change DID work! I'm trying to be Queen and 007 but it's a bit of a fail ...

I frequently have burnt toast, then add sliced red onion and cheese and re grill then smear with thin coat of low fat mayo

Mmmmmmm

(I've had a gastric bypass and try to have protein with every meal, plain toast is just pointless, I get bored of eggs, it makes perfect sense to me although my dd thinks is wrong)

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/07/2012 10:09

Cold curry on hot buttered toast is utterly unacceptable without a large dollop of Patak's Brinjal or Hot Lime Pickle. YANBU.

Can you look on this as a 21st century version of Heinz Toast Toppers (can you still get them)? Would that help?

HugeFurryWishingStool · 29/07/2012 10:13

Sounds delicious. I'd eat any of those things. Mind you I used to enjoy tuna fish on chocolate digestives, so who am I to comment?

Binkyridesagain · 29/07/2012 10:13

I will tell him about the lime pickle, I am surprised he hasn't tried it.

He has said that mayo on cheese on toast is sick! He has redeemed himself slightly, I won't leave the bastard just yet
