To think my DH is possibly the most disgusting man on the planet?

One of his favourite delicacies is Marmite, which is fine, as long as he doesn't come near me until he has brushed his teeth and gargled with disinfectant.

However the vile man just can't stop there, he has discovered Cold Curry on hot buttered toast with or without Marmite and also cold chilli con carne on toast.

I am willing to accept that things could be worse, his disgusting habits could stretch to biting his toenails, picking his nose analysing it then eating it but I feel he has pushed things to far with this mornings choice of breakfast.

Hot buttered crumpet with cheese, not just any cheese but good quality special reserve Lancashire cheese.

ATM I am having trouble looking it at him, how could the man I love stoop to this level!

Is he truly vile or AIBU? Smile

Scrambled eggs on toast and marmite is a fab breakfast

pictish · 29/07/2012 10:18

My husband loves cold leftover curry on hot buttered toast.
Why is it disgusting?

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 29/07/2012 10:20

I think some men - who, whilst falling out of the tastebud and food decency tree, forgot to hit any branch at all.

The common sense tree also lacks men hitting their branches Wink

My man is one of those menGrin

Binkyridesagain · 29/07/2012 10:21

I do enjoy curry butties but the curry is hot. Cold curry is yuck and then to put marmite with it is just unacceptable! Smile

My brother has cheese and jam sandwiches all the time. He also eats super noodle and tomato sauce inside white bread.

I love hot buttered toast topped with warm weetabix mmmmmmm

CheerMum · 29/07/2012 10:23

My husband likes to put ketchup on plain pasta...boak

Dd likes to dip quavers into mayo

My life is a nightmare!!!!

MyDogShitsMoney · 29/07/2012 10:24

stbXh had some ridiculous ideas about what constituted a balanced meal.

Burger, savoury rice and pasta 'n sauce anyone? All with a drizzle of ketchup and served on a bed of I Can't Believe It's not Butter'd bread obv.

He also used to serve up all food in the centre of the plate in one big pile, like a sort of food soup.

His favourite recipe:- cut a raw onion into approximately 5 pieces, add to a jug of bisto.... ta da... onion gravy Hmm

Reader, I married him.

MyDog wins! :o

Strong cheese on crumpets? Oh yes.

Cheese and raspberry jam sandwiches are fantastic.

KenLeeeeeee · 29/07/2012 10:39

YABU... or I'm as vile as your husband because everything but the Marmite sounds amazing to me.

My husband had leftover kebab for his breakfast today. That is beyond even me.

picnicbasketcase · 29/07/2012 10:43

This isn't so much disgusting as just plain infuriating but DH covers almost every meal in mayonnaise and black pepper. Makes me cross when I've made a perfectly nice dinner only for him to drown out every flavour. Angry

HenriettaChicken · 29/07/2012 10:45

Melted cheese & marmite on crumpets. Mmmm.... Grin

MyDogShitsMoney · 29/07/2012 10:45

Oh it was a never ending procession of delights.

Ommlette filled with raw onion, peppers, tinned ham (double boak) covered in prawn cocktail sauce? No?

What about findus crispy pancakes, potato waffles, oven chips, beans and spaghetti?

You're a tough crowd to please.

(cold curry on hot toast sounds bloody lovely though!)

HenriettaChicken · 29/07/2012 10:45

And YY to scrambled eggs on marmite on toast!

MammaTJ · 29/07/2012 10:48

Cold curry is delicious!!

Pickles77 · 29/07/2012 10:51

I feel rather ill now, this is doing nothing for the morning sickness Grin

Binkyridesagain · 29/07/2012 10:55

I think I should add my disgusting food combination as I am beginning to feel left out.

Chipshop chips and gravy with salad cream.

I do like mayo with chips and beans

jadebond007 · 29/07/2012 11:12

Sounds delicious

DumSpiroSpero · 29/07/2012 11:21

I could definitely do the cold curry - although one of my faves is cold cauli cheese and hot grilled bacon sandwiches!

Prefer sweet stuff on crumpets though.

I always think it's weird that my DH puts salt on his rice - when we're having a curry or chilli - why would you need salt on top of everything else? Confused

squeakytoy · 29/07/2012 11:39

Cheese on crumpets is lovely, especially if you butter them with garlic butter too..

Wants3 · 29/07/2012 11:42

couthy that is my favourite sandwich. I've eaten it since childhood! Second best is marmite and crisps in White bread.:)

TrophyKnickers · 29/07/2012 11:43

I love marmite and cheesy crumpets. I'm also partial to cheese and peanut butter sandwiches. Mmmmm
