Ahh, that bastion of haute couture. What was the gold armpit bit all about?it

sugarice · 28/07/2012 12:29

Stella was quickly on Twitter denying she designed them, well you can't blame her can you Grin

TangoSierra · 28/07/2012 12:29

I am told the gold, is the jubilee connection? Fuck knows if that is so.

rainydaysarebad · 28/07/2012 12:32

The gold armpit was to symbolise that even British armpit sweat is gold.

They have done an Olympic Scarf too. Hmm Here

KatieisScarlettinSpandex · 28/07/2012 12:37

I thought it was in homage to Ali G

Nanny0gg · 28/07/2012 12:39

Well, it's not going to send too many people shopping at Next now is it?

I bet George Davis is either sobbing quietly in a corner, or dancing with delight that he got away.

Of all the high street shops, why oh why Next? Did they not realise that all the athletes aren't 16?

rainydaysarebad · 28/07/2012 12:40

Well I wouldn't put that scarf around my child's neck like that!! How dangerous!

SparklingGoldMedals · 28/07/2012 12:40

Does anyone shop at Next as it is? Their children's clothes are awful unless you like huge slogans and cartoon characters. Don't look at the Women's stuff.

MushroomSoup · 28/07/2012 12:42

Team GB looked like poor-man-Elvis-Presleys.

KatieisScarlettinSpandex · 28/07/2012 12:43

Boden should have designed them.

Lots of big circle patterns, Johnnys dream.

Trills · 28/07/2012 12:43

YABU

rainydaysarebad · 28/07/2012 12:46

I buy DD's clothes from Next. I think they have lovely dresses and tops not in pink and I like their Minnie Mouse tops they do. I've bought loads for DD in sales to last her until she's 6. I bet you're sticking your nose up at me now...:P

SparklingGoldMedals · 28/07/2012 12:51

No rainy. I only have DSs so haven't seen the girls things, sorry. It's not the place to go if you want plain boy's clothes. Grin

Nanny0gg · 28/07/2012 12:52

Nex children's wear is okay.

Wonder how much the tracksuits will fetch on E-bay?

If I'd been a Team GB athlete I'd have cried when faced with those monstrosities.
In fact, I'd probably have defected to...anywhere else really.

SparklingGoldMedals · 28/07/2012 12:53

This outfit is much better Fiji got it right.

Trills · 28/07/2012 12:55

How oily was that guy?!

NarkedRaspberry · 28/07/2012 12:55

There was a queue forming on here for Mr Fiji last night Grin

SparklingGoldMedals · 28/07/2012 12:56

Can they ever be too oily Trills. Grin

LetsKateWin · 28/07/2012 12:56

I thought the contrast with the dark surroundings worked well.

On the subject of Next's clothes for toddlers, I find the trousers for girls a really odd shape. Tiny waist, massive hips, really long, tiny ankles.

SparklingGoldMedals · 28/07/2012 13:00

Example of awful boys' clothes Why would a 16 year old want to wear the same t shirt as a 3 year old? Confused

rainydaysarebad · 28/07/2012 13:01

Oh yeah, boys clothes are crap in Next. DS is only 6 months, and I can't find anything nice in there for him, although I have eyed a lovely padded snowsuit for the winter from there.

I think the Fiji man's designer went with the "less is more" look. Team GB could have used that too...they really didn't need the bling. And that idiot with the sunglasses shouting in the camera was just an embarrassment.

sugarice · 28/07/2012 13:08

Helloooooooooooo Mr Fiji Wink

MyinnergoddessisatLidl · 28/07/2012 13:11

Jamica stood out he most, their uniform was designed by Bob Marley's daughter, no less.
