No, you're not in a rock band.

No, you don't work in a guitar shop.

No, it's not 1985.

It's just 50 shades of wrong.

My (male) midwife had long hair and facial piercing. I must be really non judgemental because I never thought he may be incapable of his job due to his appearance and that is a field where you really do have to be with what you're doing. Luckily DH is not unemployed but he is trying to get a better job. He really doesn't want to cut his hair. He does have a beard too and he doesn't really like being clean shaven, he has one of those trimmer things that can cut it short and all the same length. He works in electronics. I'm a college tutor in the same field and I think the "sterile" aspect of electronics may discriminate against the non "clean cut" look.

bitofcheese · 26/07/2012 22:23

dr a friend i have known for years although am not close with, nothing in common, very straight/prim, she pissed dh off by actually asking him in a very serious voice/face 'do you ever wash your beard' and was sneering as she asked him. she clearly thinks he is in need of a good wash, mind you, she changes her undies about four times a day i kid you not

I love long hair on men, always have. I'll always look twice at a bloke with long hair - isn't always worth it though!

I think its a Freudian thing because when I was 3/4/5 my dad was at uni with lots of long-haired blokes.

spiderlight is your dp at Leeds Uni?

op YABU, I love men with long hair, think it looks great!

JennyPiccolo · 26/07/2012 22:52

My dp gets 'eddie vedder!' or 'mick foley' Hmm or 'Adam jones' (at the rugby) or 'guy from the hangover!' ( drunks)

Basically he has long curly hair and a beard.

RubyFakeNails · 26/07/2012 22:52

I know this comment is going to lead to me being burnt at the stake but, I genuinely always assumed longhaired men as in past shoulders, we single Blush it just didn't enter my head anyone would find that attractive.

ROFL at Gail Porter, but what about:

Taye Diggs
LL Cool J
Vin Diesel
Terri Crews
Tank

God my type is so fucking obvious.

TroublesomeEx · 27/07/2012 00:36

I like men with long hair.

I had a boyfriend many years ago who had beautiful waist length thick auburn hair that he wore in a plait.

HappyAsChips · 27/07/2012 01:59

As a rule, I really don't like long hair on men. But then there's Aragorn from Lord of The Rings...

Trills · 27/07/2012 02:06

sashh · 27/07/2012 05:16

OP you are SO BU.

It should be the law that all men grow their hair long at least once in their lives, then it can be assessed by a panel those of us who like long hair on a man to see if it needs to be kept.

cuppateaandasliceofcake · 27/07/2012 07:14

YABU my dh has shoulder length hair, I love it, he's also in a rock band Smile

catus · 27/07/2012 07:29

If it's clean, what is the problem?
I know it is light hearted, but don't you think it is a little bit sexist to think this way?

sashh · 27/07/2012 07:30

OP

What if you are Sikh?

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 27/07/2012 07:33

If you have lovely luxurious locks which swish around glossily...fine.
Not if you are receding, plait or wear a hairband or look like Bill Bailey

catus · 27/07/2012 07:46

And have you watched Thor? Come on, who wouldn't want that? He had me feeling like I was 15 again. The drooling...

alistron1 · 27/07/2012 07:47

YABU. Ladies and gentlemen may I present the tousled curls of Mr Robert Plant. You can stick yer number twos.

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 27/07/2012 07:56

Oh Robert Plant is gorgeous.
I would.

alistron1 · 27/07/2012 08:19

He wouldn't be the same with a shirt back and sides ;) There is something just so virile about long haired blokes. My DP had waist length hair when I met him, over the years he's had it short, grown it again, cut it, had a number 2... he always maintains that he's long haired in his soul!

Currently his hair is collar length, I'm trying to persuade him to keep growing it.

My DH is regularly mistaken for Robert Plant. He was once asked for his autograph in Toys-r-Us 😂 The funniest thing ever is going to see a Robert Plant gig and watching the double-takes in the crowd outside when we arrive.

I can not stand short, 'prettied' hair on men. Nothing to me is a bigger turn off.

I like my men with long hair - dreads, ponytail, colour, tidiness.... they are all optional.

I also like beards and can not stand a man in a suit jacket.

It seems you like Vikings then?

OP you are wrong, by law all men should have to have long hair at some point in their lives.
