first and last heard of....not got a clue with 2+3

Devora · 24/07/2012 22:35

What's geocoaching?

Moominsarescary · 24/07/2012 22:36

I've only just heard of tickers, still don't know what it is

MrsVamos · 24/07/2012 22:36

I've heard of 50 Shades, not interested really. Might buy it if I see it in a charity shop to see what all the fuss is about, although from what I know, I don't need to read a book to get my erotic kicks.

Alex and Chantelle are reality tv people. But not as bad as The Orange One, afaik.

What's geocaching ? Educate me, please.

I know who Jessie J "do it like a bruvver, do it like a doode" is as my DD thought her first hit was fabulous. She seems harmless.

Salmotrutta · 24/07/2012 22:38

Well, I still haven't googled Alex Reid et al but geocaching is a kind of treasure hunt that sounds like fun!

This is the website:

[[http://www.geocaching.com/ geocaching]

Might be a fun thing to try with our grandsons ...

Moomins

Tickers are silly time line things they have on another less popular parenting site (but more aimed at Mums) to show how old each and every living/dead family member be it human, animal, vegetable or mineral is.

geocaching = nerds version of orienteering, it involves sitting on your arse, locating random things ww via GPS on your phone

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/07/2012 22:39

Goecaching is treasure hunting with GPS .

LOVE JJ in our house. DD's favourite.

No idea who the other people are.

50 shades. The man in my local, very good bookshop had it on the counter. I sighed. He said, "no, we have to put it there for the people who have never been in a bookshop before. All the other books scare them so we put it on the counter so they can grab it quickly". Grin

Salmotrutta · 24/07/2012 22:39

Hello MrsVamos!!

How the devil are you??

Hope that pup's behaving!

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 24/07/2012 22:39

Ahem.

I only have a son. I would be most upset to discover a month before my SONS 13th birthday that he has in fact, made me a grandparent.

MrsVamos · 24/07/2012 22:40

I am very well.

Pup is wonderful.

Geo...whatsit sounds boring.

Get a dog and get outside, woman !

Salmotrutta · 24/07/2012 22:42

But Jumping and MrsTerry - suerly you have to actually go out walking with the GPS to find the canisters (discreetly), open them then put new things in?

... I thought that was the whole point?

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 24/07/2012 22:43

Yes, still though. It is big in Canada, where I live. I prefer the indoors.

I meant "our" grandsons as in DH's and mine!
Not yours and mine ... Grin

I do wonder how people are oblivious to things like this.

A colleague of mine told me she'd never heard of Cath Kidson until the other day. Odd.

MrsVamos · 24/07/2012 22:45

I know ! I'm messing with ya !

It's the heat. Sends me stupid.

Salmotrutta · 24/07/2012 22:46

Oh and MrsV - I have cats.
It would be unfair to get a dog (much as we'd like one) as we both work and can't be there for a dog.

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 24/07/2012 22:47

Oh, and Alex and Chantelle have called their baby Dolly.

Alex is Katie Prices ex DH, (one of them, anyway) and Alex is famous for going into celebrity big brother, when she wasn't a celebrity. It was kind of a joke. Anyway she married someone who was also in the BB house (who wasn't very famous) and then they split up.....and she and Alex have just had a baby.

Salmotrutta · 24/07/2012 22:48

I hadn't heard of Cath Kidston until I came on here.

We are country bumpkins up here in rural Scotland. Grin

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 24/07/2012 22:50

Ahh, you say that, Lynette but I do this with some things too.

I am sure they're not the 'in' footwear anymore, but having heard vaguely on here of Merrell and Sorel boots I decided to take a look.

No wonder people rave about them ! How, when I have spent the past 13 years walking on a regular basis, did I not know of such practical yet beautiful footwear ? Just what I need for dog-stomping.

I have several pairs earmarked. I just have to find a way to justify why I shall need several pairs, rather than just 1. And sneak them in the house.

I have even spent time thinking of ways to 'rough' them up a bit too. "These old boots, darling ? Found them in the back of the wardrobe, forgot they were there".

Salmotrutta · 24/07/2012 22:51

Being "famous" nowadays is a bit of a joke really isn't it?

Daft.

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 24/07/2012 22:51

Salmo

Don't use the cats as an excuse. The work thing works, but not the cats.

You forget, I also have cats. 3 of them. AND a cockatiel. AND a robo hamster.

Grin
LynetteScavo · 24/07/2012 22:54

MrsVamos - don't worry about roughing them up....if he asks (which he won't) just tell him they were an amazing price in the sale.

Salmotrutta · 24/07/2012 22:54

See, I'm just not "trendy", or into labels so I never usually know about who's "in" until it's plastered all over everywhere!

I'm too old to bother mostly!

No, it really doesnt.. you actually have to go walking.. it is a treasure hunt using mobile technology.
