to want to shave my baby?

Because he rubs his head around at night ds(0.7) has got a mop of wispy blonde hair piled on top of his head, but none on the sides or back. About a quarter of the top is also bald too!

Would I be a terrible parent to grab my clippers and give him a close shave?

Awww....leave him be!

My DD has lovely thick brown hair apart from at the back.....we call her Billy-Ray Cyrus Grin

worrywortisworrying · 23/07/2012 15:07

I'd do the clippers tbh. Better no hair than weird combos of bald and long

Ariel24 · 23/07/2012 15:14

Lol @ butters! But butters is cute!

I'm going to watch south park DVDs now

olibeansmummy · 23/07/2012 15:14

Ds was born with thick dark hair which all fell out except for the very back section. He looked like he had a massive eyebrow on the back of his head lol. I must admit I did consider shaving it off, but didn't actually do it!

SirEdmundFrillary · 23/07/2012 15:14

That's all very well and as he's a he, no. If he was a she, it's never too early to begin waxing.

liketochat1 · 23/07/2012 15:18

Ha ha! I agree with worrywort. It's not unreasonable to want to - it is to do it!

ChunkyPickle · 23/07/2012 15:20

Errr - when Ds's hair all but completely fell out I carefull snipped it down to a sensible length with scissors..

He looked ridiculous - he had what we affectionately called a 'Terry Nutkin'

I didn't realise I was supposed to leave him all tufty!

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 23/07/2012 15:22

For the no's, would it change your mind if I told you the long bits are about 3 inches long?

He's the only baby I know with a comb over :(

OP posts:
DawnOfTheDee · 23/07/2012 15:24

DD has a baby combover. I only let people look at her from the front....

NoSpagJustBolAgain · 23/07/2012 15:28

I would grab an eyeliner and draw him a big curly moustache. He will then look vair distinguished.

If it helps, my baby has a dark brown nutkins at the back, a mid brown long curly mohican, and pale blonde round the sides. Weirdo.

TheBigJessie · 23/07/2012 15:29

I think baby sounds cute as is. YABU

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 23/07/2012 15:32

Leave him daddy you brute.

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 23/07/2012 15:50

Tempted by the idea of a mohican...

My DD has a mullet.

I can't bring myself to cut it though - she's never had her hair cut, ever (she's 2) and the thought of taking a little piece of her away just feels wrong.

I know that makes me sound very strange. Blush

MrsKwazii · 23/07/2012 16:09

Voice of dissent here - do it. DD2 had a comb-over - she looked like the Hamlet ad. DH got his clippers out and gave her a all-over trim (keeping the clippings), and her hair has grown beautifully.

BeautifulBlondePineapple · 23/07/2012 16:30

I took the clippers to DS2 when my BIL kindly started calling him Mel Smith. He looked much better afterwards!

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 23/07/2012 17:02

It seems incorrect to shave a baby though im not sure why. Hmmmm.

I've just noticed that ds has a Hitler style haircut at the back! About a third of the crown is missing and the rest flops down Hitler style. Just on the back of his head...

Hat?

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 23/07/2012 17:59

He's not the type to willingly keep a hat on.
