There's a bit of a back story with his stb ex-wife and I (isn't there always?!) but he's now coming up for a long visit of about 3 weeks to see us and DS. We haven't had a proper visit since before DS was born (about 2 yrs ago) and I'm just so excited that he'll really get to know DS properly!

I think DH has missed seeing him too, and it'll be lovely to spend time and catch up.

So actually, I'm so NBU, but I am BU to be a bit teary before he even arrives!

For the record, I love my BIL, my sisters H very much and would be devastated if they ever split up. They have been together for 24 years, so I would hope they are fairly secure now!!

We all got very excited when DSIL comes, even more do when she brought her DCs and left DBIL at home ( DH and I find the chap she married very odd)

The OP is rightly excited that she is finally getting her dbil back, after a long absence, and furthermore that she gets the joy of introducing him to her ds and watch as they get to know each other.

You really need to watch out for those assumptions you are making; they'll come back and bite you in the arse.
