To be ridiculously excited that DBIL is on his way to see us?

And is only about 3-4 hours away from arriving? Grin

There's a bit of a back story with his stb ex-wife and I (isn't there always?!) but he's now coming up for a long visit of about 3 weeks to see us and DS. We haven't had a proper visit since before DS was born (about 2 yrs ago) and I'm just so excited that he'll really get to know DS properly!

I think DH has missed seeing him too, and it'll be lovely to spend time and catch up.

So actually, I'm so NBU, but I am BU to be a bit teary before he even arrives! Grin

OP - YADNBU, and lucky you! Smile

I kissed the Amazon man once Grin when he brought my Harry Potter book the day before he was supposed to Grin and he ran away.

I get really excited when DH's best mate (he was our best man) comes up for a visit, never mind family. And I definitely don't have feelings for him. He's just a nice bloke who is brilliant with DS, has some great stories & is good company.

Youcanringmybell · 22/07/2012 16:21

YABU - only because I cannot personally identify with feeling so excited to see someone other than my children or husband.

Have fun though Grin

Wow! There's a response I wasn't expecting from Sonesta ! Hmm

Nope, not in love with him! I've known him for 15 years and he is like my brother (I'm an only so he really is like my little brother). It's really nice to have him back without worrying about anything I say being taken the wrong way/twisted etc. I think DH and I missed him more than we maybe realised. Sad

And DS is already all over him (most unlike my normally shy DS) and it's truly fabulous to watch.

I think maybe because this post is in AIBU instead of Chat then some people could read a little bit more into the post than not.FWIW I started reading with post with the anticipation of a confession coming along!

CarpeJugulum · 22/07/2012 17:48

Oh Grin

Never thought of it that way Smile

nosleepwithworry · 22/07/2012 17:54

.......apart from the bit about you fancying him, that wiped the smile i had for you right off my face Sad

weaselm4 · 22/07/2012 17:57

I am blessed with THREE gorgeous and lovely SILs. In-laws can be bloody lovely.

Pleased for you OP, sounds great, especially how well your son is responding.

(I've thought about it and, no, I don't think I'm harbouring secret crushes on any of them).

weaselm4 · 22/07/2012 18:00

And I would be the same, nosleep, if I hadn't seen my brother since Feb! He's fab, my little bro (aged 35)

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 22/07/2012 18:14

Awwww.... YANBU op.

It's totally normal to be excited to see people you care about Confused

I wasn't in love with my BIL but he was my best friend and introduced me to dp. I bloody miss him and would do an awful lot to see him again
