specifically, the ones which feature cartoon people with skinny legs and big heads (Lloyds TSB, British Gas) and the ones with girls singing in breathy voices sounding all simpering and wet - Kia Cee'd and others too numerous to mention.
They make me very very cross and want to stab the TV!

I can't stand those computer generated characters either. They look weird, like the CGI Andrex puppies.

Dame Edna is preferable to the shouty gobshite that is Mel B though!

I refuse to watch anything on TV that has adverts. I get very stabby about it and it isn't good for my health. Far better to sky+ and skip through them.

I can't bear the one with the very beautiful and apparently blind redheaded woman tripping around whilst giggling gurning and simpering.

Oddly enough I liked it at first.

I hate the one for a car where a conductor is waving his arms about in front of an orchestra and the soundtrack is a kind of whispery ch-ch-ch-cha ch-ch-ch-ch-chaaa.The car is shown whooshing through tunnels.

Its message may be that it's so spacious you can get an orchestra in instead of a radio.

I also hate the other car one that goes Zhoom-zhoom.

Can't remember what mediocre tin box on wheels either ad is for which is surely not the point of advertising.

I too hate the cartoony Lloyds TSB and gas adverts. Go compare and Sue Barker is currently pushing my buttons and anything about bloody online Bingo or Wonga.com .

CGI Andrex puppies are very wrong, I agree with you jazzchickens. I am also getting irritated by those children playing 'we will rock you' very badly - think its a soap powder ad?

Except the one where the woman pretending to be a solicitor in a gang of ninja solicitors falls down the stairs. It shows an ironic sense of humour.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - mute all adverts.

I started doing this so that my dc wouldn't pay them as much attention and actually we pay adverts NO attention without sound.

I hate the ads for Cheeky bingo that sponsor Jeremy Kyle. Erm, not that I often watch such shite you understand.

Sparklingbrook - I had been thinking i had dreamt Dame Edna Everage in those adverts, as i have only seen it once', was thinking i had a sick sick mind to dream it up tbh! Mind you, i see the Scary Spice one all the time, and could do without her shouting at me stood there with her boy hips and huge boobs!

Also, the new Rice Crispies ad. My DD's would and at me if I offered them a cereal box to colour in.

The kids in the ad make me laugh at how excited they are to colour it in. In a caravan, in the pouring rain. The mum doesn't look like she's on the gin either.

We'd be making rice crispy cakes like the greedy sods we are not faffing about with the box.

I hate the wonga.com adverts, tring to make out that PDL are lovely and cuddly.

There is an advert that is on sky news a lot. Its for some travel insurance company with some woman banging on about how good they are for older people. And she is going away to Venice with the girls blah blah.

I also hate the Michael Parkinson/Annette Crosbie adverts for Sun Life plans - robbing plans where you are unlikely to get back what you pay in, but they are sold to old people who are vulnerable to that kind of 'leave something for your children' crap.

Why are ads are so crap? Am thinking Wonga, bloody meerkats, Andrex and those awful CGI dogs - what, were real dogs too expensive? that maudlin RAC car rescue ad (it's a puncture not open heart surgery), all mobile phone ads, the Freeview ad with the bloke in his horrible pjs, anything with breathy female vocals, all personal injury. I like Direct Line at the moment - bit of humour goes a long way. Wouldn't use them though .

TV ads are a criminal misuse of creative talent at the moment. I will be muting them forthwith in protest
