to be irrationally annoyed by current TV ads?

specifically, the ones which feature cartoon people with skinny legs and big heads (Lloyds TSB, British Gas) and the ones with girls singing in breathy voices sounding all simpering and wet - Kia Cee'd and others too numerous to mention.
They make me very very cross and want to stab the TV!

I shout "Please!" repeatedly at the Siri ones.

peedoffbird · 22/07/2012 05:50

The EDF orange thingy is a glow worm I think?

NinaHeart · 22/07/2012 08:25

Absolutely ALL of the above. Also the Tena lights adverts where the women go all simperingly girly (yeuch) at growling at the pizza delivery boy, having a sale label in their coat etc, but seem to care not one jot that their packet of urine-catching pads is on full view.

Oh and anything where the men are portrayed as total idiots (oak furniture anyone?). Another form of sexism.

RubyRosie · 22/07/2012 09:49

I hate those argos aliens, their stupid wobbly heads piss me right off. Ditto the stupid diet coke puppets, would make excellent firewood.

Nanny0gg · 22/07/2012 11:23

I like the EDF one. For some ridiculous reason he makes me smile.
And the Fosters ads are brilliant.

But that bloody wispering woman in the Secret Escapes ad - words (almost) fail me.
What the devil is she supposed to be wearing? Is that meant to be 'Designer'?

magicOC · 22/07/2012 15:46

I'd love to punch the face of the customer on the direct line advert. He is suchj an a*. OK I know it's just an ad, but, def puts me off using them.

MintyMojito · 22/07/2012 15:54

You lot must watch a lot of live tv. I record everything so I don't have to see them, and boy child watches cbeebies. It's fab, I can't remember the last time I saw an advert.

Actually yes I can, I watched Million Pound Drop on Friday night. All the adverts were the same because they were all about the Olympics. Snore.

MrsRhettButler · 22/07/2012 17:28

Direct Line ads crack me up! The one where the lady was imagining she'd been burgled was hilarious!

They are the ONLY funny ads though, the rest are pure shite.

WhataMistakeaToMakea · 22/07/2012 18:11

Yep, the Perle du lait or whatever yog one drives me mad. Why do they need to know what her secret is? THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME AS HER! I don't get it!

Also hate the '3 fussy boys' and that other wierd one where the women make sausages then a dog in a ring box sings some stupid song to say thank you.

FrenchRuby · 22/07/2012 21:07

That advert for the insurance with direct line, both of the guys on that annoy the hell out of me.
Anything where there is an annoying song that stays in my head all day.
I also hate the weight watchers advert but I don't know why....

AllYoursBabooshka · 22/07/2012 21:12

Anything is better than Sheilas Wheels.

MintyMojito · 22/07/2012 21:13

Whatamistakea - that pearle du lait advert has the worst dubbing ever.

Pixel · 23/07/2012 00:46

What about the bloke in the ridiculous cape knocking over window frames "I say buy one you get one free" Hope they paid him well for humiliating himself like that.

All shampoo/hair colour ads are awful. The current Vosene one has at least tried to be a bit different I suppose but the people are still smug and annoying. I always imagine a shivering queue of people waiting for the large family to stop hogging the swimming pool showers Grin.

millieandmax · 23/07/2012 03:42

My favourite is Joan Collins when she replies 'who'd wanna smell like you' so funny I laugh every time lol

RubyRosie · 23/07/2012 09:10

I didn't used to mind those Direct Line adverts but I've seen the actor who plays the insurance salesman on Mock the Week a few times now and he comes across as a complete arsehole.

ineedabodytransplant · 23/07/2012 09:24

Scarletladyofthenight01,

If it's the same Dior advert then it annoys the hell out of me as well! I mean, how old is the model in it..12?

Or is a paedo(sp?) created advert?

Telbutvasa · 31/05/2017 14:50

How sad to be like you. You need more tolerance.

AlexaAmbidextra · 31/05/2017 19:41

Those fucking Nationwide poems. I have to turn the sound off.

sexcauldron · 31/05/2017 19:47

I think you're sadder for reviving a 5 year old post just to insult the OP....
