Blush

I have just read the other thread about ballet on here and couldn't help myself. Teeny ballet shoes and tiny tutus... makes my heart all a flutter.

Oh I don't know. Maybe wait until she can walk?

waterlego6064 · 17/07/2012 14:48

What can a 9 month old do in a ballet class? Not actual ballet, for sure. Whatever floats your boat though, I guess.

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/07/2012 14:48

God, I hated ballet.

TheBigJessie · 17/07/2012 14:49

Spoof thread?

QuintessentialShadows · 17/07/2012 14:49

You might as well dress her in a tutu and plonk her down on the floor in your house, thats free, I think. Hmm

FarelyKnuts · 17/07/2012 14:49

Aww so cute.. but seriously? :o

See if she can master the old walking bit first eh? Wink

firawla · 17/07/2012 14:50

there is something around called baby ballet - no idea what they actually do though. think you get to dress them up in tutus then its probs not that different from a lot of baby music type classes

i HAVE NOTHING TO SAY I COPIED TO SAY SOMETHING WITTY BUT THERE IS NO WORDS !

HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 17/07/2012 14:50

I think this has got the potential to become one of those threads that starts with an innocent light hearted question and ends up a massive bun fight with 1000 posts.

I think ballet lessons at 9 months might be a waste of money tbh, but you could buy a tutu and some ballet shoes and dress her up for own enjoyment?!

YAB a little bit U

ObviouslyOblivious · 17/07/2012 14:52

Why on earth did you wait so long?? Shock

olivestree · 17/07/2012 14:52

Ok, so I didn't actually mean I would be sending her next week.

Her backwards caterpillar crawl is quite graceful though. Hmm

I looked for schools for my 2.5 year old but can't find any she can start until 3. 9 months is a bit young Grin

olivestree · 17/07/2012 14:56

Oh FFS! It was a joke peeps!

Before it gets too heated, DD will go to ballet IF SHE WANTS TO and when she is able to ask for lessons!

OP posts:
Peaksandtroughs · 17/07/2012 14:57

DD started ballet before she started school. She is now starting secondary school, still doing ballet and has never yet worn a tutu, not even in the shows.

Sorry to disappoint you.

worldgonecrazy · 17/07/2012 15:00

GM wants to sign DD up but the local place of torture school doesn't take them until they are at least 3 years old.

olivestree · 17/07/2012 15:00

Phew, she has just woken up. Thought we were going to run late for Mandarin lessons.

MrsBovary · 17/07/2012 15:01

Dd was 12 when she first got to wear a tutu (obviously she owned some for dressing up).

Those baby ballet classes start at approx 6 months, apparently, the mind boggles!

TheVermiciousKnid · 17/07/2012 15:02

This thread is going to run for dozens of pages because people will post having only read the first post. [girn]

OP, I fear you 9 months is a bit too late. :(

TheVermiciousKnid · 17/07/2012 15:02

FFS, now I'm 'girning' instead of grinning.

Dd did a ballet performance at the weekend. She is 9 but the other girls were all over 14 so she looked tiny.
I cried like a pathetic thing.

Stokey38 · 17/07/2012 15:06

Where I live, there is a 2 year waiting list for loads of the ballet / gym classes so maybe it's not such a bad idea!

olivestree · 17/07/2012 15:08

Thanks for the link Peaks. Just ordered uniforms for us both. Will get DH his tonight once I have checked his size. Grin
