Can't get my washing dried, taking me twice as long to get home from work because of driving conditions, unable to do any gardening, lacking anything resembling a freckle beacuse the sun has just not been out AT ALL.

lunchbox · 11/07/2012 16:19

What rain? It's 25 degrees here and very lovely Wink

melika · 11/07/2012 16:21

YANBU, here have a Wine!

Paiviaso · 11/07/2012 16:22

It's just rain.

Though agree with lunchbox, looking outside its blue sky and sunny...

Pastabee · 11/07/2012 16:28

YANBU. We are buying a tumble dryer this weekend after years and years of saying we have no need for one. I just can't deal with the wet washing any longer.

sugarice · 11/07/2012 16:31

I have bought Vitamin D calcium chewies for the kids and me to try and compensate for the lack of Sun on our skin.

nearlyuptheduff · 11/07/2012 16:33

All I want is a week bit of sunburn and a nice BBQ dinner (and to get the bedding washed and dried!)

It has rained in Edinburgh EVERY day for the last 3-4 weeks

YANBU.

Never mind the washing, garden or getting a sun tan, try being a farmer. It is just dire. Can't get on the fields because they are too wet, haymaking is often done by now, can't even start it, the cows are in the shed (usually in December to March NEVER EVER July) and they are giving birth inside so calves need to be protected from other cows to stop them getting trodden on.
Don't even get me started on grumpy DH...

simbo · 11/07/2012 16:41

We are having a rare moment of sunshine, but it is still cold. I am fed up of taking the dog for a paddle rather than a walk, having to use my tumble dryer even though it is July, having to take waterproofs every time I leave the house, having no use for the summer clothes I bought earlier in the year, but I thank goodness that we booked our hols in Spain rather than the UK. There may be many great things about Britain, but the weather is not one of them.

SoleSource · 11/07/2012 16:44

I beleive we need most activities indoors. Outdoor activities - outdor pools etc should have retractable roofing, similiar to Wimbledon. Expensive initially but the rain. THE RAIN

GnabGib · 11/07/2012 16:48

YANBU at ALL! It's sunny with blue skies where I am. An hour ago, we had black clouds, thunder and monsoon-like rain. An hour before that, dry. You just can't plan anything and it is driving me mad. I moved to a seaside town late last year and kept being told 'oh the winter's grim... but just wait until the summer! Summers are amazing!' We've been to the beach twice. In March/April. I just want a bit of sunshine now.

Silverlace that sounds awful, I really feel for the farmers when things are like this. Hope things improve.

nearlyuptheduff · 11/07/2012 16:50

Silverlace I hope things improve for the farmers too. After all, they do work very hard to provide us with lifes essentials.

You Are So Very NOT Unreasonable!!! Thought I was the only one who was getting gloomy.... Wandered round in the shops this morning and I fancied Broth and hot bread rolls.... That's AUTUMN fodder,no way should that be registering on my mind already!! Angry

CleoSmackYa · 11/07/2012 17:01

YANBU! It was glorious this morning where I am, I even got a tiny hint of tan. This afternoon it turned in about 30 seconds and we've had a storm and downpours since. Sad I live near the beach and I want to go to it! It must have hit the seafront traders bad aswell. It's dead down there.

Silverlace · 11/07/2012 17:03

GnabGib and nearlyuptheduff thanks for your support. I know people say farmers are always moaning about the weather but this year really is exceptionally bad. There will be some real hardship this year in the farming community.

Pandemoniaa · 11/07/2012 17:04

What's particularly shitty is how so many events have had to be cancelled. I'm not talking about great big corporate sort of affairs but the smaller and really important community or not for profit fund raisers. Especially since so much work has usually been put into them before the inevitable happens and rain stops play.

NoComet · 11/07/2012 17:04

I was just about to go and enjoy my coffee in the sunshine, que big black cloudsAngry

SoleSource · 11/07/2012 17:07

Silverface I wish things were easier for farmers too. What we do without you? All the best :)

shebird · 11/07/2012 17:08

YANBU I'm so miserable and have a cold and look pale and pasty. Also I'm eating much more rubbishy foods so im in danger of getting fat as well as witch looking. I just want to sit in the garden, have a nice BBQ and let the kids splash about in the paddling pool instead of puddles.

NoComet · 11/07/2012 17:08

Yes we had to cancel our school fair, if it carries on raining sports day won't happen.

We hoped at least to sell cans of pop, sweets, ice creams etc at that, but the field is so wetSad

ddubsgirl · 11/07/2012 17:10

yep thunder and downpours here today, sports day was cancelled yesterday,i dont like it too hot but even im pissed off with the rain.

hermionestranger · 11/07/2012 17:12

Farmers have had a shit year. It's actually sunny here this afternoon. It is so rare to actually see it this year. I'm actually looking forward to autumn and winter.
