Can't get my washing dried, taking me twice as long to get home from work because of driving conditions, unable to do any gardening, lacking anything resembling a freckle beacuse the sun has just not been out AT ALL.

Yanbu!! I bought a tumble drier in June because I was so fucked off with the weather...I have no excuse to not do the washing now! Our garden is an overgrown jungle. I hate rain.

Tee2072 · 11/07/2012 17:30

Well, it just hailed here in Belfast.

Anyone else have hail?

rainydaysarebad · 11/07/2012 17:35

No, just thundered here and now the sun is out again with dark rainclouds building up again. :(

McHappyPants2012 · 11/07/2012 17:40

Think I may start using sun beds again

HippoPottyMouth · 11/07/2012 17:43

don't worry, I'm getting solar panels installed on friday, so after that it's BOUND to get sunny...

Vixxen · 11/07/2012 18:56

Really pissed off about my washing! Put our bed sheets in with the intention of a lovely fresh bed tonight, rain has ruined my plans Angry

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/07/2012 19:00

Solar panels - on Friday 13th

HippoPottyMouth Shock

bound to be sunny Grin

CamperFan · 11/07/2012 19:04

I got caught in a hail storm today! In mid July! And I'm not even up North!

Number44 · 11/07/2012 19:22

I'm on maternity leave. This is the last summer I will ever have when I am off all day with my children. It wasn't meant to be like this. We were going to walk, picnic, feed the ducks, visit the cows, get the jungle of a garden at our new house sorted

I am absolutely gutted :(

And back to work in august. No doubt just in time for the bit of sunshine we'll get this year :(

irishchic · 11/07/2012 19:25

If it was up to me I would move our family to a sunnier climate, but my dh's business is here, so we are stuck, but I do dream of spending retirement in the south of france or italy. It wouldnt cost me a thought to leave this rain sodden god forsaken place!

Sparklingbrook · 11/07/2012 19:25

It seems to go from boiling hot and sunny to pitch black monsoon like the flick of a switch. Confused

LadyBeagleEyes · 11/07/2012 19:25

It's nice here.

Catsmamma · 11/07/2012 19:28

i am so cross about this weather too, so YANBU!

dh and i had a gorgeous day away at the end of March....you know when they were predicting "phew what a scorcher" for the rest of the season.

and I think we had nine days of fabulous sunshine in May

and fuck all since! My 20 minute on the worst day ever driving to work stuck behind a tractor commute took me 45 minutes the other friday cos the fog was so dense .....there were not even any wanky audi drivers rocketing along, everyone was fog lights on and shitting themselves about driving into something!! It was awful, I nearly cried when I finally got home to the bosom of my family. slight over dramatisation, but you know!

someone needs to write a sternly worded letter to someone in authority.

HermioneE · 11/07/2012 19:31

yaNbu

this weather is taking the piss. And it can fuck right off.

Sparklingbrook · 11/07/2012 19:32

My guttering has given up. Sad

stargazy · 11/07/2012 19:46

It's not brilliant for anyone ,and I work outside so am a tad fed up of changing my waterproofs. However I have a lovely, cosy home.A great DH and lovely DC's and enough money coming on to buy good food, pay the bills and have one holiday a year and the odd day out as a treat. And that's more than some people have so this evening I'm counting my blessings.
Also our home isn't flooded like some unfortunate folk. And this morning heard an interview with a poor dairy farmer and the deeperate time they are facing with rising feed costs and supermarkets battering down their profits yet again .I must admit I was feeling a bit glum in yet another downpour until I thought about the bigger picture.
Plus the trees are lovely and green!

WingingItBadly · 14/07/2012 10:57

I may be one of the few who is not f'ed off with the rain. Why?

  • dh is actually spending time with me rather than being off every weekend with his mates
  • I am not worried about my weight as there is so little flesh showing
  • dd is dressing like a civilised young woman rather than an underwear model / street walker
  • ds has worn his £70 wellies for the first time and at lest four times since

Also dd has brought home a bf I have actually warmed to rather than the usual repelled by, and the weather is a major factor. She is dressed in a way that would not put off a nice like like S for once, plus they met at a music event. S sensibly wore wellies, the usual boys she goes for we're stuck on the edge trying not to get their trainers dirty. Result for S (did I say what a nice lad he is?) and for us. Obviously we're pretending not to approve ...

AltruisticEnigma · 14/07/2012 11:16

Can't go shopping in town centre.
Can't walk the dog.
Can't wash the pen out properly.

Blah, horrible weather! I can't believe I need waterproofs in July!!!

showtunesgirl · 14/07/2012 11:33

YANBU.

I have a 7.5 month old DD and the original thinking was: Ooh it will be lovely having a winter baby because by the time Summer arrives we'll be able to enjoy the sunshine together.

Our garden is full of frogs really hoping with them. We have no pond but the bottom of the garden has been flooded for ages now and they are actually breeding in there i think because you cant walk across the grass without nearly stepping on them. Its driving me mad i hate frogs, i hate the hndreds of slugs that keep appearing in our house and more than anything i hate the 2 mile eqch way walk to the sodding school with a double buggy and a moaning three year old. I expect it over the winter the summer i demand a break from it all.

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 14/07/2012 12:04

I am going to Wales on Monday.Sad
am packing this afternoon...that will be so depressing.

bignutbrownhair · 14/07/2012 12:07

I blame Thatcher and the Tory government.

WingingItBadly · 14/07/2012 12:08

I think Cameron has shares in a Wellington bout company Wink

Novelist · 14/07/2012 12:19

We're Aussies, so I think we're even more depressed than most. It's the same temperature in our hometown and it's winter right now.

Lozario · 14/07/2012 12:31

I just read a long term UK forecast which said:

August likely to be average or a shade above average in terms of temperatures, average or slightly drier than average in terms of rainfall

If this doesn't come true then I for one am suing them; it's the only thing that's keeping me going!!
