I am freezing. I have just utterly flipped out with dd and yelled "It's JULY"!! (in south-east - it's 15 degrees in my kitchen)

Dd said 'bet you can find someone on Mumsnet who has their heating on in Britain'.

So we are betting there is Grin

Mine was on for a couple of hours.

shewhowines · 02/07/2012 20:08

And I wore gloves which were, happily for me, still in my waterproofs pockets when i had to be outside for a couple of hours this morning.

Mitsouko · 02/07/2012 20:22

Me in London yes. Wanted to warm the flat up before DD's bath. I'm from a tropical country, so this feels like winter.

But if it was hot people would be moaning!

Kellamity · 02/07/2012 20:54

Fire is lit!

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 02/07/2012 21:25

I can cope with being cold (jumpers, socks, etc are first port of call) but when the house feels damp, dank, generally moist, I have to warm it up - it doesn't take much heat, just a low temp for a couple of hours to take the chill from the air.

Depressing - bloody July!

Then when the weather does warm up it's so bloody humid it's uncomfortable.

It's a good job I love this country, else I'd be off Grin Wink

BadRoly · 02/07/2012 21:26

Yes, I have mine on down here in sunny Cornwall Wink Mainly because our wooden floor tiles are lifting in the hall due to the damp so I need to dry them out Wink

FuckerSnailInYourHedgerow · 02/07/2012 21:35

I have lit a fire the last few nights, in Whest of Ireland here. Made a beef and guinness stew too for dinner, feeling really wintry:)

Madsometimes · 02/07/2012 21:35

Mine is on to dry some towels. Not really a great day for hanging washing out on the line.

Smellslikecatspee · 02/07/2012 21:38

I'm in Herts, it raining and dark and 'orrible here.

I have a vest, a jumper, and a carrdie on.

I was working from home today and also had a blanket around my lap too. Finally gave in and turned it on.

OH, mister shorts in November has even commented.

I wonder if it's worse because our mind thinksit should be warm, if you see what I mean
?

youarekidding · 02/07/2012 21:44

No, but I wouldn't turn it off it it came on! Mines set at 18°c, inside temp is hovering between 18-19°c.

Watch this space Grin

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 02/07/2012 21:46

It's 22 c in our house without the heating on. Yet I am still cold with a jumper and a fleece on.

kellestar · 02/07/2012 21:51

Ours went on about 11ish, me and DD 1.6 were frozen with Jumpers and our fluffy dressing gowns, socks and slippers and we were buried under two blankets.

DH was so glad to come home to warmth.

AndLibbyMakesThree · 02/07/2012 21:52

Mine's been on too, though only for a couple of hours. Partly to dry the washing, and partly because I'm a wimp who's always cold (and I HATE being cold).

I have a horrible feeling I could be the only Mumsnetter who's still putting her electric blanket on, though...

thenightsky · 02/07/2012 21:54

Nope Libby you are not... I have to put mine on to warm the bed up a bit before I get in.

Had the heating on for one hour to warm the bathroom up earlier too.

FootprintsOfTheQueen · 02/07/2012 21:56

I was just talking to dh about whether it's 'allowed' to put it on today.... Frrreezing!

AndLibbyMakesThree · 02/07/2012 21:58

thenightsky, I'm so glad I'm not the only one!

DaPrincessBride · 02/07/2012 22:00

Ermmm....yep tis on Grin

forevergreek · 02/07/2012 22:05

Has been on almost constantly since erm.. Last sept/oct!
Tis freezing
I have thick socks on/ jeans/ long sleeve top/ jumper

At a friends earlier had to put a coat on top as was cold

I hate the cold!

Meglet · 02/07/2012 22:08

Yes, mine is on; Hampshire.

It's chilly and damp. My washing needs to dry too. No point in sticking laundry in the tumble dryer when I can flick the radiators on and get a toasty house too.

echt · 02/07/2012 22:20

Cold and dark - 9 degrees outside, so heating definitely on.

But then it's winter in Melbourne, so expected.:o

Latara · 03/07/2012 03:53

yes, heating is on down in t'South; i can't really afford it but i'm justifying it because... the cat had pneumonia when she was younger & that's more expensive to treat than to pay for heating bills.... ok slight excuse there... it's just coldddd!

lubeybooby · 03/07/2012 04:13

yep mines on!

scripsi · 03/07/2012 04:33

I had the heating on for about half an hour last night, then felt mild indignation and turned it off again (am hoping the house will fully cool down before our next bout of humid warmth). I've laundered all our big jumpers and thick woolly throws and they're getting used.

QuinionsRainbow · 03/07/2012 13:58

We have our CH on a bit to warm the bathroom radiator - can't stand damp towels - but all other radiators are off. Wimped out at bedtime, though, and replaced our cellular blanket/sheet combo with a summer-weight duvet!

FarrowAndBollock · 03/07/2012 14:02

I was tempted yesterday and asked the children if they wanted it on.
