I am freezing. I have just utterly flipped out with dd and yelled "It's JULY"!! (in south-east - it's 15 degrees in my kitchen)

Dd said 'bet you can find someone on Mumsnet who has their heating on in Britain'.

So we are betting there is Grin

Mine has been on for an hour or so, but only because I have a massive backlog of laundry and I don't have a tumble dryer.

I will put it off in a bit, though

GrimmaTheNome · 02/07/2012 18:48

DH turned ours on yesterday; as soon as I realised I turned it off again. He was doing sedentary stuff (reading, puter) while I was cleaning the house - perfectly warm enough in t-shirt and jeans. I'd have boiled if I'd left it.

Pastabee · 02/07/2012 18:51

Yes but it was really cold in my 7mo room and I knew she'd wake up early from her nap so I cosies her into snoozing so I could mumsnet get some housework done.

AnyFucker · 02/07/2012 18:52

yep, heating on here

for the first time ever in July, it has to be said

wtaf is going on ?

OldGreyWiffleTest · 02/07/2012 19:25

Ours has been on today. Cold and damp in the West Country!

Stellarforstar · 02/07/2012 19:26

I put mine on for an hour this morning.

Everywhere is just damp and it's starting to do my nut in :(

GnocchiNineDoors · 02/07/2012 19:26

Mines on. And I took a hot water bottle to bed last night.

Freddiebump · 02/07/2012 19:30

Yep I flicked mine on this morning cos I was flippin' freezing and couldn't bring myself to get naked enough to shower until the heating was on!

Mibby · 02/07/2012 19:31

Mines set at 21 and its been on and off all day. It would be off if i was at work/ dd at childminders but silly me booked a week off thinking it would be bloody sunny!

BertieBotts · 02/07/2012 19:33

Yep. On timer.

Hulababy · 02/07/2012 19:36

Mine isn't on right now but we don't turn it off as such. It stays on the thermostat so if the house falls below a certain level it comes on, regardless of time of year.

TwllBach · 02/07/2012 19:37

Yep. North Wales here. Comes on for an hour in the morning and an hour in th evening. We did turn it off for approximately two weeks in April I think.

OlympicFlame · 02/07/2012 19:38

I'm actually considering it... But DH is saying 'put a jumper on'. But I don't want to put a jumper on... It's bloody July FGS!

Chubfuddler · 02/07/2012 19:40

No but we are still lighting the fire every evening. And the aga is still on.

Well as it happens, i relented and lit my woodburner today.
Its well damp in West Wales and my old bones need a break (not literally)

CuriosityCola · 02/07/2012 19:42

Had mine on this morning. The house felt cold and damp (probably due to wet washing hanging everywhere).

Agree with poster above that this weather isn't good for blw Grin

SparklyRedShoes · 02/07/2012 19:43

I nearly turned mine on today. I have flipping Asthma and the damp weather means I've had a tight chest for weeks. I am so annoyed. I mean is it toooo much to ask for two months of heat? The only reason I didn't turn it on is because it would be admiting defeat.

Sabriel · 02/07/2012 19:46

I've just put ours on Blush

We've just got home from holiday and the house is freezing

ratspeaker · 02/07/2012 19:47

I put ours on for a wee while this morning
Since then I've had the tumble drier on and left utility door open so kitchen /living room as well cosy

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 02/07/2012 19:51

I've had mine on today. The house felt damp. I keep forgetting it's meant to be summer!

alistron1 · 02/07/2012 19:56

Yes, mainly to sodding dry clothes. Also, I got soaked on my way home from work and felt miserable and cold.

LadySybildeChocolate · 02/07/2012 19:57

Blush Mine's supposed to be on. I'm sitting, wearing a cardigan. Confused

DialsMavis · 02/07/2012 19:57

I'm not cold enough for heating, but I am under a blanket Smile. I am going camping to a festival this weekend and apparently the temp nearby dropped to 6 last night Confused

CecilyP · 02/07/2012 20:01

I live in the north of Scotland and haven't had my central heating on for almost a week now, but I did have the heater on in the bathroom when I had a shower yesterday.
