I am freezing. I have just utterly flipped out with dd and yelled "It's JULY"!! (in south-east - it's 15 degrees in my kitchen)

Dd said 'bet you can find someone on Mumsnet who has their heating on in Britain'.

So we are betting there is Grin

Yep, I had mine on for a couple of hours before. I'm feeling poorly and it was bloody freezing! I had blue fingernails, in the SUMMER FFS!!

Shullbit · 02/07/2012 18:12

Nope. My heating hasn't been on for quite a few weeks and even though I had to change out of wet clothes when I came in earlier, I put shorts and a vest top on and walked around opening all the windows. I even leave a bedroom window open all night. It is too humid for me still.

LaurieFairyCake · 02/07/2012 18:13

It is damp isn't it - it feels like my house has a really damp/cold/smelly feel as if it needs a massive deep clean and airing Hmm

Glad she was right Grin

Can't believe it though - last year ours was off in April (multi fuel stove that heats the radiators) - this year we had a fire last week - and I've now got a wee electric heater on and my electric blanket for later so I don't have to build a fire in the stove.

It's madness.

Yup. A few hours morning and evening. I cant dry my laundry otherwise. Sad

OlaRapaceFru · 02/07/2012 18:14

Yes, another one with heating on - albeit briefly. Blush

The outside temperature isn't freezing by any means, but I put the heating on this morning for about 30 minutes (while the boiler was firing up for the hot water anyway) and have turned it on again just now (probably only for an hour).

TheMonster · 02/07/2012 18:14

Nope, but I did consider it to try washing at the weekend. The I just put it in the conservatory instead.

puffyankles · 02/07/2012 18:15

Yes, heating, fire and a small radiator on.

BabbleBitch · 02/07/2012 18:17

Yes - central heating and fires. It's cold up here!

MrsChemist · 02/07/2012 18:18

Yes, but mine is fucked and somehow linked to my hot water. If I want hot water, my heating needs to be on.

Thermostat is knackered too, so it's stuck on really hot.

ThisIsAUsername · 02/07/2012 18:19

I'm trying to put it on, I have it set for 19.5C but my thermostat won't drop below 21.5C (not broke, just tends to go up when it is warm and although its pissing down it is warm) so it isn't coming on... bah!

valiumredhead · 02/07/2012 18:19

15 degrees isn't cold though Confused

McHappyPants2012 · 02/07/2012 18:23

Got mine on as dh has snapped another tumble dryer belt so drying washing.

WilsonFrickett · 02/07/2012 18:24

Mine was on for three hours earlier. Sigh.

Goosfraba · 02/07/2012 18:27

Mines on.

valiumredhead · 02/07/2012 18:27

Don't people put jumpers/cardis on any more?

I can understand it if you have to dry washing.

madhairday · 02/07/2012 18:29

Yep - had it on this lunchtime for a bit. It's horrible and cold and damp, I'm recovering after being in hospital and need warmth

Moominsarescary · 02/07/2012 18:32

I have, it was freezing earlier

hairytale · 02/07/2012 18:32

You mean to say there are people with it off? Shock

I will be lighting a fire in a minute, my toes are freezing

freddiefrog · 02/07/2012 18:34

I have't succumbed yet, but I probably will later.

It's not too cold here at the moment, blowing a hooley and pissing with rain, but fairly mild

We have the log burner going, and the living room lights on. In fucking July.

MummyDoIt · 02/07/2012 18:35

Not yet but I've been seriously considering it for the past hour. I've put on a thick cardigan and I'm still cold. Even if I resist the heating, the electric blanket will be going on at bedtime!

justtryingtodomybest · 02/07/2012 18:36

I did think about it earlier but then decided I couldn't possibly switch it on in July
