FFS!

Normal telly! Please!

Surely everyone will just watch the beeb so they don't have to endure ad breaks all the fricking time.

Why is it scheduled on both?

Dreading the Olympics - one whole month of endless sport of which I will only want to watch 10%.

So, AIBU?

YANBU about the football.

However I do love the Olympics.

WithoutCaution · 01/07/2012 19:41

YANBU

whackamole · 01/07/2012 19:45

YANBU. Can't stand sport apart from gymnastics and ice skating.

What can I say. I am a Proper Girl.

Sirzy · 01/07/2012 19:48

YANBU about the football, one game one channel.

YABU about the olympics though.

SoleSource · 01/07/2012 19:49

Winter sports, American football, ice hockey, gymnastics, show jumping horsey stuff, England World Cup, that's it.

YANBU watchimg Mamma Mia AGAIN, ITV2

YAWN

Mrsjay · 01/07/2012 19:49

Simpsons on my telly AGAIN i would much rather be watching anything else even football,

Mrsjay · 01/07/2012 19:50

It is the final so that will be why both channels are showing it, be finished after tonight,

Sirzy · 01/07/2012 19:53

"its the final" doesn't explain why 2 channels have to show exactly the same game.

Mrsjay · 01/07/2012 19:54

I guess they are contracted to show it or 'something' dunno really

TheMysteryCat · 01/07/2012 19:57

who allowed the tv channels to buy the rights twice for one game in the same country? I thought they shared them normally.

i don't object to the olympics being screened (a lot), but I'd like to be able to have a break from it on the main channels, especially at prime time.

Is the Beeb having a separate channel for continuous coverage, or is BBC 1 and 2 alternating?

I feel that way every saturday during the winter when both BBC and ITV are showing the same types of programmes with different formats ie talent shows and strictly.

squeakytoy · 01/07/2012 20:06

considering there are so many other channels to watch, it doesnt really bother me..

Kennyp · 01/07/2012 20:07

Clive owen is on bbc2.

EdithWeston · 01/07/2012 20:10

They don't break in to live footie for ad breaks.

Given how dire the BBC is on everything else at the moment, I'd go ITV every time. Which I am doing now, sort of. As I'm watching a Lewis repeat on ITV3 (with lap top on knee for vital MNetting too, of course).

mayorquimby · 01/07/2012 20:20

Oddly enough ITV manage to make the BBC look positively "slick" when it comes to football coverage. ITV are the tv equivelant of the red-tops. they are useless.

stoatie · 01/07/2012 20:40

Come Dine With Me for me

FariesDoExist · 01/07/2012 20:42

YANBU

VolAuVent · 01/07/2012 20:43

YANBU. It's just a game...

Moln · 01/07/2012 21:02

It's to do with the greed of different commentary isn't it?

I'm in Ireland and it's on three channels here (admittedly two are the two you have too).

DH keeps switching from one to the other.

freddiefrog · 01/07/2012 21:11

YANBU! There is no need for the 2 main channels to be showing the exact same match

I discovered Mamma Mia and I'm now raiding the Sky+ box

MrsSutherland · 01/07/2012 21:13

YABU - Its one night every four years (or two if you count the world cup). Everyone has digital now so there are plenty of other channels.

?Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.?

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/07/2012 21:16

I'm with mayorquimby if only one channel had it, there is the danger it would be itv Grin

I don't plan on watching ANY of the Olympics though, so will moan about that Wink

WorraLiberty · 01/07/2012 21:18

What is 'normal' telly exactly?

Endless fucking soaps and soap omnibuses ever day of the week?

YABU, it's not like we're living back in the early 80's when there were only 3 channels to choose from.
