I love diet redbull.
Don't like the full sugar stuff.

Slightly chemical taste = lovely.

ThisIsAUsername · 26/06/2012 10:37

YANBU. It's vile. The aftertaste of red bull makes me boak, so tangy and unnatural tasting.

I'll stick to chocolate covered coffee beans, ta.

Petsinmypudenda · 26/06/2012 10:38

Dh drinks one and it smells like cat wee.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/06/2012 10:38

Why Clytae?

Can't you just eat spinach and almonds and get a good bight's sleep?

choceyes · 26/06/2012 10:39

YANBU. I don't get why people drink it. Now my DH drinks it cos he cycles 20 miles a day, runs marathons, plays squash etc, so he needs the extra energy, but regular folk, who don't do much exercise?
DH who is a teacher says, kids in his school are always guzzling these drinks down. And they wonder why they are buzzing and can't concentrate on their lesson Hmm

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 10:40

YANBU it is disgusting but i suppose energy drinkers may think my coffee is vile , dd1 drinks them and i had banned them from the house she was on a high then a slump Hmm she is a grown up now so i guess she can drink the vileness ,

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 10:41

there is such a range of them now even innocent looking cans of drink have 'energy' added to the label dd1 drinks a supermarket brand it smells weird,

Clytaemnestra · 26/06/2012 10:46

I like the taste. I don't know why!

I don't drink it daily, but if I have a long boring drive (which I do a lot) I might have one in the car to keep me going a bit. I think it's quite nice.

I'd love a good night's sleep, but DD thinks that 5:30AM is a reasonable getting up time. :)

QueenofJacksDreams · 26/06/2012 10:47

DH is an insomniac surviving on 3 hours sleep most nights he drinks them to keep him going during the day.

I drink them occasionally to stop me nodding off, taste vile but do the job.

pictish · 26/06/2012 10:47

Yanbu. They are truly foul.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/06/2012 10:48

Avocado is good energy.

Couldn't you carry one of those with you and sip that?

BackPackBackPack · 26/06/2012 10:49

I used to drink them all of the time. I have stopped as I'm pregnant.

I only used to drink them to keep my Intracranial Pressure up. My DR's told me to drink them as they rise ICP quicker then other drinks.

festereagain · 26/06/2012 10:53

YANBU. I was allowed to drink Lucozade while in labour so my blood sugar did not drop to avoid an epileptic seizure. Lucozade for 19 hours is no joke. If I never clap eyes on another bottle of the stuff it will be too soon.....

Barbielovesken · 26/06/2012 10:54

Blush I could easily drink up to 3 a day (the diet ones). I dont get why people are bleurgh about them to be honest. I do watch my diet but Im tired a lot - Id love to sort my lifestyle out but ive 3 kids under 6, (2 of them 2.5 and under), a (more than) full time job, a dh who is away working 6 nights out of 5 (so no help with house/ kids on weekends/ evenings) and until recently was attending uni at night completing degree - I need all the help I can get!!!! Smile

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 10:55

oh now i do love a lucozade now and again the original though not flavoured , I was a sick child and lived on it so if im feeling a bit bleurgh i reach for a bottle,

festereagain · 26/06/2012 10:56

I think I prefer coffee with sugar though Barbie. I can't cope with the sweetness of energy drinks.

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 10:57

I know a lot of people drink vodka and redbull caffine and alcohol must be a weird combo Confused

DunkyWhorey · 26/06/2012 10:57

Don't drink it then.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 26/06/2012 10:59

I buy the tablet things you put in your drink...some of the are quite nice. I do loads of exercise and need some energy to keep me going....plus some of them claim to boost metabolism and burn more fat, esp if they contain caffeine.

I'm sure they're all a load of cak but hey, they make me feel better :)

elliejjtiny · 26/06/2012 11:01

I drank apple flavour lucozade when in labour. It's the only one I like though, the others I've tried taste all chemically.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/06/2012 11:06

I don't DunkyWhorey.

Hmm

i dont like them i think they smell horrid! but dp drinks them sometimes, he has a perfectly good diet and lifestyle but works long hours and shift work and sometimes hwen he gets home he will have one to perk him up a bit so he stays awake rather than just fall asleep on the sofa within minutes, htey dont always work tho i have to say!

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 26/06/2012 11:19

I like the naice flavoured ones, monster or chaos. Maybe you should try the chaos one chaos?

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 26/06/2012 11:37

If I needed a boost when I worked late nights I used to eat Starbursts (and I nearly wrote Opal Fruits, I will never get used to the name change) Energy drinks do nothing for me, but I still drink them because I like the slightly weird taste. Red Bull and Vodka is nice although I think I'm about 20 years too old to be drinking it... Smile

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/06/2012 11:40

You are joshing aren't you SillyBe?

There's one called Chaos?

SIOB.

and over the lower case c, I'm quaite finicky about that, I have multitudinous punishments up my sleeve for repeat offendists

Wink
