chaos i hope it has an uppercase C becuase that might send you over the edge f you see a drink with your name and it is chaos Wink

AmberLeaf · 26/06/2012 11:43

Redbull tastes like the nasty red medicine you used to get as a child.

I do like some of the monster ones and the 'pussy' one tastes lovely!

I did try sticking a straw in an avacado the other day but it wasn't ripe enough (they never are)

hipposaurus · 26/06/2012 11:44

Yanbu, they are revolting. They are manufactured to be addictive. Only one I like is lucozade occasionally if I'm doing lots of sport.

AmberLeaf · 26/06/2012 11:45

They also leave your breath smelling a lot fresher than coffee!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/06/2012 11:46

Pussy?

It gets worse.

I do judge the girl who works with me and drinks 2 every morning with a bakewell tart, as her breakfast when she gets in. She won't believe me about if she had something different she wouldn't feel like a starving zombie by lunch time.

I quite like love a red bull and vodka Blush

RubyFakeNails · 26/06/2012 11:48

The Pussy one is really tasty. Have you seen the <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=pussy+energy+drink&um=1&hl=en&client=safari&sa=N&rls=en&biw=1280&bih=617&tbm=isch&tbnid=MVvoenvAD2OsgM:&imgrefurl=jezebel.com/pussy-energy-drink/&docid=KU1SBgTGNF5K0M&imgurl=cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/39/2011/08/pussy_3.jpg&w=800&h=500&ei=IJPpT5GRIYfd8AOb6LjUDQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=376&vpy=306&dur=437&hovh=177&hovw=284&tx=162&ty=80&sig=102694296960271309798&page=1&tbnh=108&tbnw=172&start=0&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:10,s:0,i:103" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">ads?

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 11:48

A monster pussy Hmm Grin

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 26/06/2012 12:18

My sincere apologies Chaos. And to the drink too which is actually Monster Khaos!

Cockwomble · 26/06/2012 12:29

YANBU but I can't stand the word "horrid". It makes me think of "scweaming and scweaming until I'm thick"

CrystalQueen · 26/06/2012 12:35

My DH is diabetic so we always have some Lucozade on standby. No idea why anyone would choose to drink it. Plus it's a right pain to get out of carpets (diabetic twitches send it everywhere).

Lancelottie · 26/06/2012 12:35

What the heck is a 'diet energy drink'? Does it have special Low-cal Diet Calories?

Or ah ha! is it what I call coffee?

Shutupanddrive · 26/06/2012 12:39

I like the original lucozade when I need some sugar, but all the other ones are disgusting.

festereagain · 26/06/2012 13:28

yy to lucozade ruining carpets

molly3478 · 26/06/2012 13:29

Oh I remember when Lucozade came in a big bottle wrapped in orange cellophane and you only got it when you had been a bit poorly, and then your Mum bought it for you when she thought you were on the mend and would be able to keep it down.

Once or twice as a student when I had drunk far far too much and made myself sick had had a stomach upset, I would turn to Lucozade when I finally felt like I would live again.

Hence it has hopeful connotations for me. Can't say I have drunk it in years but I had noticed it had now re-invented itself as some trendy "energy" drink.

theodorakis · 26/06/2012 13:39

They give me heartburn but I don't mind others having them but I think it's a bit shit to give them to kids

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 13:43

that bottle with the foil was very comforting 5foot5 I wish it still came in bottles like that Smile

CouthyMow · 26/06/2012 13:46

I drink too many energy drinks. And I don't care. Coffee is damn vile, bitter, stinky horrid stuff, I'm allergic to the tannins in tea (and red wine and kidney beans), and Coke is like paint stripper.

I need caffeine, I have 4 DC, two with SN's, a toddler who thinks sleep is for the weak and I grab about 4 hrs sleep on a good night. It's either energy drinks or hospital with exhaustion...

COCKadoodledooo · 26/06/2012 14:03

Dh drinks them when he's knackered. He doesn't drink/like coffee though freak

Can't see it's any different to me having an espresson when I need to be wide awake.

COCKadoodledooo · 26/06/2012 14:05

where tf did that 'n' come from?! Blush EspressO

fuzzpig · 26/06/2012 14:15

I agree. But then I think drinking beer, wine or coffee is bleurgh and horrid

The only energy drink I like is orange lucozade sport (the one that looks and tastes like orange squash)

Tee2072 · 26/06/2012 14:20

Well, some of us don't get a good nights sleep no matter what they do, as you well know. ::stern look::

However, those same some of us wouldn't drink an energy drink no matter what. I have a rule about not drinking something that is florescent in colour. ::nods::

Thistledew · 26/06/2012 14:24

I drink them when I am cycling more than about 40 miles. Even of you eat a good breakfast it is quite easy for your blood sugar to crash if you are exercising at high intensity for a sustained period.

I like the Torq products as many of the drinks are much less sweet-tasting than most sports drinks. As for their energy gels- the Rhubarb and Custard flavour is truly lovely.

Having said that, there is a time and place for energy drinks, and that is generally when you are doing high intensity exercise. My friend was at the gym a while ago exercising near to a somewhat overweight lady who was explaining repeatedly to her friend that it was essential that you drink energy drinks when you work out as you need to have fuel to work efficiently and to replace electrolytes. This lady apparently made sure that she drank two bottles each work out session. My friend was torn as to whether she should say something to point out to this woman that if your 'workout' comprises of 10 mins medium intensity on the cross-trainer followed by 20 minutes walking on a running machine set to a very slight incline, then you will consume more calories from two bottles of sports drink than you will actually consume, which may explain why she is not finding her exercise regime to have much, if any, effect on her weight loss plan!
