Very shocked that mothers on here think that other peoples opinions are more important than a babies well being and comfort, tut tut to you all !!!

BlackOutTheSun · 25/06/2012 19:29

Now I've found out why dd has nappy rash again, huggies have added new fucking dry lock to their nappies

The only fucking brand I've found didn't give her nappy rash have fucking changed Angry

pumpkinsweetie · 25/06/2012 19:32

Already tried asda no good Sad

I've tried pampers, boots, tesco, asda, sainburys, lidl.

Huggies use to be great

pumpkinsweetie · 25/06/2012 19:38

Tbh i put my childs needs first before what 'people think', if my child wants changing, feeding etc i will do it, if other people do not like it , it is their problem not mine.
Aslong as you aren't waving the nappy in their face or baring their botty for all to see cant see a problem

PenguinOpera · 25/06/2012 19:41

Yanbu. I've done it on a plane stuck on the Tarmac for 4 bloody hours and everyone banned from using the loos due to impending they were having a larf departure. Ds nappy was very stinky and poopy but I was beyond caring at that point.

Apologies to fellow passengers.

amieis · 25/06/2012 19:45

because everlong she does MASSIVE wees and can see her nappy is all fat. Also, having had the issues mentioned earlier in the thread, we have come to recognise what certain whinges and cries mean with regards to her nappy

dangerousliaison · 25/06/2012 19:46

everlong you have had 5 babies and you dont know when a baby is crying because it needs it nappy changing Hmm Shock Confused, that is a worry.

not always. I would say at 4 months i could tell by dds facial expressions when she was weeing. If baby cries and you know they are not hungry thirsty no reason for pain etc, the first elimination is nappy.

a fat or soaked through nappy may not mean left too long it could just be a big wee. but most nappies dont stay flat from just one wee anyway, the bulk slightly.

i dont think there was any quation the baby had not weed in this case, the OP knew her dd needed her nappy changed.

Disgusting I'm afraid, YABU. If you can't wait, you could get off the bus, find a quiet side street or even better a baby change, do it there and get the next bus.

There's just absolutely no excuse for changing a poopy nappy on the bus.

The choice is not between other adults' opinions/wellbeing and the comfort of your baby. It's between being lazy and not bothering to inconvenience yourself by getting off the bus, dealing with it and waiting for the next one.

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 25/06/2012 20:11

comptoir - was that to the OP?

IT WAS NOT A POOEY NAPPY

Maamekin · 25/06/2012 20:13

It's not really about what "people think" though, is it?

It's about having a bit of consideration for your fellow passengers, rather than a my-child-comes-first-and-screw-everyone-else mindset.

My child comes first too. That fact doesn't give me carte blanche to completely disregard the feelings of everyone around me.

amieis · 25/06/2012 20:13

She was changed before I left... I'd been on the bus an hour at that point and she weed whille on the bus... As I said she does HUGE wees...

OP posts:
pumpkinsweetie · 25/06/2012 20:14

But comptoir- what if you don't have enough money for another bus? And you are an hour away from home?
I don't see it as lazy at all, Lazy is when you leave your uncomfortable wailing child in a nappy

amieis · 25/06/2012 20:18

The other passengers were a couple and their kids maam so if they'd spoken english, and I'd been able to ask, I'm sure being a parent themselves they'd have understood. As it was I stayed on the bus as the next one would have been an hours wait, let dd cry, and changed her when I got home

OP posts:
LurkingAndLearningForNow · 25/06/2012 20:22

I totally agree Maam

WithACherryOnTop · 25/06/2012 20:23

Would you honestly rather have a baby get nappy rash than put up with the smell for a few minutes,Maam and Lurking?

Daenerys · 25/06/2012 20:28

yanbu, i would change dd's wet nappy. she wails constantly if i don't so i have mastered doing it in about 30 seconds. that's far less distressing than 30 minutes with a wailing baby..

WhiteWidow · 25/06/2012 20:33

Of course you're being unreasonable.

It's ignorant. Another case of (some)mums wanting everyone to put up with something distasteful, that 'like it or lump it' attitude.
