I lost 14lb in 25 days on Dukan Diet. I'm 5ft 1 and was 8st 10 on 12th April. I reached my target weight on 6th May. I am now 7 weeks into a 10 week consolidation phase and am eating some wholemeal bread daily and pasta twice a week, plus protein, veg and a little fruit and cheese daily.

I have sustained a weight of 7st 8lb for the last 6 weeks. I do drink loads of water and I excerise. I feel well and have loads of energy, so yes, I think it can be done, but as part of a longer term plan to change your eating habits for good. I've cut out crisps, white bread and potatoes/chips. I also have sensible portion sizes and don't ever feel hungry. Good luck!

I fear QueenMaeve is right.

The Michaels is tough but she'll tone you up well f you stick at it.

FWIW I know exactly what you mean about the 7lbs showing too.I'm slightly vertically challenged too and I hate the fact that my injury only suppressed my appetite for about 3 days because I have been eating crap to compensate for being virtually immobile for the rest of the month and now I am the heaviest I've been all year. the heftiest looking 5lb weight gain EVER Sad

It's difficult to comment without actually SEEING you - but even if it's more than you personally like, 8st 4 at 5'2" is absolutely fine. You know your body, and what looks and feels good. But really - at 8st 4lb, is it WORTH the stress of worrying about your holiday, hating being female, crash dieting? Really? Try to be kinder to yourself, and relax.
FWIW, I'm 8lb 7 and 5'3" - and I can tell you that with low carb, exercise and very low calorie (last year, returning to that weight) I never got near 7lb in a week. The big initial losses you here about are all water, and at our size, we simply don't have it to lose.

maybe you need to think about what's going into your head rather than what's going into your mouth.

You are a healthy weight for your height, the rest is vanity, I am afraid.

Chocolategirl3 · 25/06/2012 00:37

I joined Slimming world and list 6lb in first week then lost a steady weight of between 3-4lbs a week. Dead easy and never hungry, totally recommend it x

Good luck x

Chocolategirl3 · 25/06/2012 00:41

Just noticed your weight, you wouldn't loose as much as I did in a week as I had 3 stones to shift. My friend had 1 stone to loose and has managed 2lb off each week x

MistyRocks · 25/06/2012 14:48

thanks for the replies

wish i hadn't posted my actual weight / height though as i just knew people would judge and assume i am a bag of bones, well i am NOT, and wouldn't even look skinny at 7 stone 7

suspect the ones who think that are taller ladies who don't know what its like being short, damn i wish i was a bit taller, even an inch or so :(

Your comment about feeling you looked better Pre-DC at a higher weight does seen to lean to you needing serious toning rather than weight loss. It could be your body fat % that has changed rather than anything else. What strength training do you do at the moment? A toned body can look better than someone who is technically lighter but with little muscle tone.

And yes. 30 Day shred works.

Midgetm · 25/06/2012 15:00

If you have lots to loose you could do it easily but if you have less to loose. low carbs, High protein may shift about 5 in 2 weeks if you are lucky. Most of first weight loss is water though.

Ephiny · 25/06/2012 15:04

I think 7lb is a lot to lose in 2 weeks, sorry. Just stop the 'over-indulging' and your weight will sort itself out in its own time. And enjoy your holiday without worrying about weight.

I'm 5'2" with a slight build and I know what you mean, half a stone makes a big difference, and I too think I look better under 8st (I'm just a bit over at the moment). I used to be 7st, and while I certainly looked slim I wasn't painfully thin or anything (and was active and healthy). So don't think you're unreasonable to want to keep your weight at that level. Just no need for a crash diet, small adjustments will do it.

Do you really hate being 'short'? I think 5'2" is fine, it's only a couple of inches less than average for a British woman, I think, and I've never found it to be an issue! You do sound a bit harsh on yourself about your body and size in general...

Jins · 25/06/2012 15:05

I'm the same height OP. I know what a difference 7 lbs can make. Its just that I don't think crash dieting half a stone in two weeks will work. Sad. I just said I wasn't comfortable with advising on weightloss Sad

Midgetm · 25/06/2012 15:12

Oops just seen your stats. I am currently pregnant so fat weigh more than normal. But I am a tiny bit shorter than you. 7 stone 7 for your height is bordering on medically underweight so it would be skinny. Actually medically defined skinny. I have weighed less than that and looked and felt rubbish. And skinny. Not preaching. Just stating a fact. Unless you are very very big boned for a short person. Good luck dropping a couple of pounds, you are right, Short arses don't carry it well . Just have realistic expectations.

MistyRocks · 25/06/2012 15:18

i am a bit depressed and down at the minute so must admit i am not exercising very much, i do need to motivate myself

i do pole fitness as a form of exercise but haven't been doing it much lately :(

You probably can't lose 7lb but you can lose enough to look better. Only if you exercise though.

Jins · 25/06/2012 15:22

Well there you are then! Go and swing round your pole and get those endorphins flowing.

I reckon if you cut out the indulgences, get a bit of physical activity going and keep it going while you are on holiday you'll be much happier with the way you look :)
