very often she seems to hose the garden. at least weekly.
should i report her
and how would i report her

on another occasion i wnet to pick up dd from a friends house recently and was shocked to see the mum blatently hosing her garden. in the middle of a hosepipe ban Shock

anyway i dont spose i would actually report my neighbour - i would be too scared to approach her myself anyway.

With the amount of rain we've had so far?

Is she insane? Shock

Petsinmypudenda · 23/06/2012 12:39

Have you not been having the biblical rain near you?

I wouldn't grass, it seems incredibly miserable

slartybartfast · 23/06/2012 12:41

i wonderd if that might strike a nerve with those who have been flooded Blush

um - i think she is hosing down her dog's poo, i am not sure. or perhaps she has new plants in pots

No.

Hose pipe ban atm? Meh.

Noqontrol · 23/06/2012 12:43

Has she got blue badges? Apparently you're allowed to use the hose just to water the garden if you have blue badges. Well you can with our water company anyway.

eurochick · 23/06/2012 12:43

I thought the last hosepipe bans were lifted last week? But perhaps a few areas still have them.

slartybartfast · 23/06/2012 12:45

no, i am pretty she she doesnt ahve a blue badge.
i know she "knows her rights"

well she does as far as her noisy dogs go.

Teeb · 23/06/2012 12:47

Yes, weren't all of the hosepipe bans lifted last week?

squeakytoy · 23/06/2012 12:48

*i think she is hosing down her dog's poo, i am not sure. or perhaps she has new plants in pots

slartybartfast · 23/06/2012 12:49

i spose i could climb up and look over the fence.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 23/06/2012 12:49

Stepladder and binoculars?

slartybartfast · 23/06/2012 12:50

I THINK a chair would do, or perhaps drill a hole in the fence? oh but then she would be able to look back. hmm

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 23/06/2012 12:52

she might poke the hose through the hole at you Grin

slartybartfast · 23/06/2012 12:53

Grin she would water my washing in that case grr

47to31in7days · 23/06/2012 12:54

Don't report it.

lowfatiscrap12 · 23/06/2012 12:54

fucking hell, there are some nosy neighbours out there have you nothing better to do?

ToryLovell · 23/06/2012 12:55

Some hosepipe bans have been lifted IIRC - Anglian water has.

I think there is some exemption for hosing substances hazardous to health which I bet she'd claim her dog poo was.

Or could be connected up to water butt, which is ok to do in a ban.

Don't make enemies with your neighbour if you're not sure of your facts.

Nancy66 · 23/06/2012 12:59

i'm pretty sure there are now no bans in place

missmapp · 23/06/2012 13:00

Yes, we still have a hosepipe ban, but unless we were reaching SEVERE shortage, i wouldnt dob in anyone using a hose

hermionestranger · 23/06/2012 13:02

Out of interest where are you OP? Have you escaped the monsoon formally known as summer there?

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 23/06/2012 13:03

No, you shouldn't report her. You should mind your own business and get your own life to worry about.

missmapp · 23/06/2012 13:10

We are in the south east- have had huge amounts of rain, but the wrong sort of rain apparantly!!

Iggly · 23/06/2012 13:11

Thames water here - ban now lifted.

ddubsgirl · 23/06/2012 13:37

southern water have lifted the ban too

pictish · 23/06/2012 13:41

Do people actually tell on others for using a hose during a ban?
