Fun idea!

Anypointinseeingdoc · 14/06/2012 12:30

YABVU. Are you having bunting too?

scarletforya · 14/06/2012 12:32

How will you plug them in? Confused

I take tea lights and a couple of jam jars!

Wilding · 14/06/2012 12:32

Yep - poncetastic. I always do though Wink

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 14/06/2012 12:32

I think it sounds lovely.

Will you also be playing Van Morrison and wearing tie dye clothes?

UterusUterusGhali · 14/06/2012 12:33

I do. Twinkly & poncey.
Get solar ones.

MsRinky · 14/06/2012 12:34

I put Rob Ryan bunting and fairy lights up on the awning of my beautiful camper van. I don't get lynched. I do get a constant parade of people cooing and admiring, and a queue of small children wanting their picture taken though.

Pandemoniaa · 14/06/2012 12:35

Lovely idea.

threetequilafloor · 14/06/2012 12:35

I wouldn't lynch you.... I would be jealous :)

lisad123 · 14/06/2012 12:36

Why? Never understood the need tbh

storminabuttercup · 14/06/2012 12:38

Good idea, you wouldnt have a problem
Spotting the tent when you've been to the loo in the night and try to get into the wrong tent like I did

fruitysummer · 14/06/2012 12:43

You'd be surprised what other people take camping.

Your tent will look normal and tame!

If you've got the lights though, I'd invest in some citronella tea lights/candles to get rid of the flies etc

In fact I'd make sure you had them full stop

TheFogsGettingThicker · 14/06/2012 12:43

I saw some on a couple of tents when camping at the weekend, I was Envy and I want some too.

Will also aid tent ID when returning from necessary nocturnal journeys to the lavs. Although we use a wee bottle And will look purty while we chat round the campfire.

pictish · 14/06/2012 12:45

Yeah our tent's lit up like a christmas tree!
I am packing to go camping as we speak. I have four sets of lights, two hurrican lamps and a tealight chandelier!
Love iiiiiit!

pictish · 14/06/2012 12:47

I have also got 12 metres of indian bunting. Grin

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 14/06/2012 12:50

We take those little solar lights on spikey bits laughs hollowly at solar part and glow sticks for the children - they are brilliant nightlights, they keep glowing for hours and hours. I'd take firelights but the boys would happen to them and DH would laugh and sabotage them as poncey

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 14/06/2012 12:50

fairylights even, not firelights Confused

pictish · 14/06/2012 12:51

AND 60 metres of colour block bunting too.

I am off to a four day music festival today though. Normally we wouldn't have 60 metres of bunting with us....but we'd always take all the rest camping. Oh yes!

The bunting is for wrapping round our circle of (10 or so) tents to deter drunks from stumbling through our campsite. It really works.

fruitysummer · 14/06/2012 12:53

TheFogs - we have a wee bucket

To bloody far to traipse to the toilet block when you could end up getting lost beacuse you're still very tipsy Blush

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/06/2012 12:53

It's your holiday, and if the twinkly fairy lights will make it more special for you, then go for it! I think it sounds like a lovely idea. To be honest, I would have fairy lights everywhere if I could get away with it.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/06/2012 12:54

Oh - as long as they are white (not that blue-y white, and definitely not coloured). If they are coloured, YABVVVU.

pictish · 14/06/2012 12:55

Me too SDT x

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/06/2012 13:03

pictish · 14/06/2012 13:05
