I hate bloody football and the morons players. Who cares about the matches that are on all evening disrupting corrie. How many more weeks of this? Grrrrr Angry

squeakytoy · 12/06/2012 22:04

As everyone has access to ITV2 now, they should put the regular programmes on there at the very least, so YANBU.

WorraLiberty · 12/06/2012 22:04

Less than 3 weeks left

Fair enough if you don't like it

I fucking hate Wimbledon but I do understand that others don't.

ilovesooty · 12/06/2012 22:05

I think the evening schedule's much improved, actually. I think it's nice to have football coverage during the summer.

As you gathered, I'm a fan.

ilovesooty · 12/06/2012 22:06

And half the matches are on BBC. How do they "disrupt" ITV programmes?

Squeaky - my mum doesn't get iTV3. Or ITV2 or 4 for that matter. I think she'd rather the footie went on those channels and Corries left where it is! Grin

My DH is away for 6 months so we are a football free zone Grin

2shoes · 12/06/2012 22:10

yanbu

GrahamTribe · 12/06/2012 22:14

YABU about god's own game. There are plenty of other things you can do to entertain yourself. Books, magazines, DVDs, LoveFilm, jigsaws, crosswords, magazines, Mumsnet, housework. OK, maybe not housework. The same things I do when bloody poxy crappy tennis is on! Grin

WorraLiberty · 12/06/2012 22:15

I knew you'd be a fellow tennis hater Graham Grin Grin

Sirzy · 12/06/2012 22:18

I can't stand football but its a major tournament that lots of people do want to watch, of course it will be shown.

If you can't find anything on tv (because even with 7 million channels everything seems like crap half the time) then do something else!

Born2BRiiiled · 12/06/2012 22:18

I don't want to watch football, or tennis, or Olympics. I am screwed.

GrahamTribe · 12/06/2012 22:19

Oh yes Sireee! Ping. Pong. Ping. Pong. Ping. Pong. Ping. Grunt.

Not my idea of a sport at all! Grin

pumpkinsweetie · 12/06/2012 22:20

Another one sick of it too, they should put corrie, emmerdale etc on itv2 so atleast there is something to watch.
Tv is shite this week unless your a sports fanatic

WorraLiberty · 12/06/2012 22:22

And don't even start me on the stupid scoring! Hmm Grin

dementedma · 12/06/2012 22:24

have it all sodding season and now for the next few weeks and then it will be friendlies and pre-season and here we fucking go again!!!
Over paid prima donnas rollng around whenever anyone comes near them and over paid commentators saying such pearls of wisdom such as "we need a result", "we've got to score goals", "it's all about attacking and defending"

DiscoDaisy · 12/06/2012 22:27

I hate soaps and reality tv which are on 365 days a year for christ knows how many hours each day.
I love football which is on bbc and itv very rarely in comparison.
3 weeks of football, which won't be on everyday the further into the competition we get, is nothing compared to what those of us who don't like soaps and reality tv have to put up with on a daily basis!

BonnieBumble · 12/06/2012 22:30

But its only two matches a day, one of which is at teatime and it's only one channel. YABVU.

ILoveOnionRings · 12/06/2012 22:35

I find it quite pleasant when it is on as DH is glued to the TV and doesn't do his usual huff puff whinging about me being on MN :)

Born2BRiiiled · 12/06/2012 22:41

Don't like reality or soaps either!

mummymeister · 12/06/2012 22:46

Im with Worra. have watched every match all the way through so far and am thoroughly enjoying it. even a hint of wimbledon makes my blood run cold. all that grunting - cant be doing with it. am eagerly awaiting the start of the tour de france and the olympics too but motorsport is also a turn off on my telly.

mayorquimby · 12/06/2012 22:47

Summers of even years > summers of odd years.

ComposHat · 13/06/2012 01:13

I pine for the glory days of Five day test matches on the BBC. Got rid of all the shite they'd usually put on during the daytime. I was once off sick for the duration of two entire test matches - absolute bliss.

I miss the theme tune (Booker T and the MGs 'Soul Limbo' there must have been some cool cats in the BBC sport department in the late 60s) and Richie Benaud in particular.

JosephineCD · 13/06/2012 01:25

No programmes are "disrupted". The football is scheduled for these weeks, and is every four years. Don't worry, from Saturday onwards there will only be one game a day "disrupting" your precious soaps and some days with no game at all.
