to wonder how people who shag strangers cope with...

....the level of grooming required? I have been thinking about this since I saw Quantum of Solace and Prometheus last week (both of which contain people getting it on on the spur of the moment)

Seriously, I'd need about 24 hours notice before I considered myself presentable enough to shag a random hottie - I mean bikini wax, legs smooth, armpits smooth, hair looking presentable etc! I usually take an, ahem, relaxed attitude to this level of personal maintenance Blush

Am I unusual in thinking this way? Does anyone else ever wonder about this?

Hmm

Actually I think I am perfectly entitled to find it creepy and I would personally find it uncomfortable if a man wanted me to get rid of my pubes.

However, I do appreciate that others may like it. Each to their own I suppose.

Not sure why I bother for DH, frankly. He's never noticed a hairy leg or pit in the 9 years we've been together. Once I was so cross about all the effort I'd put in (actually I'd shaved my legs, but you know, it's the thought that counts) that I refused entry until he'd made a damn good show of being appreciative of my lovely smooth legs. Hmph.

Dredging my rusty memory for ONS though, they only used to happen after drunken clubbing/pub nights so would have been amazed if anyone was sober enough to notice. Although, a friend told me that one of her ex-boyfriends used to notice that her eyebrows needed tidying up. I thought that a little unmanly of him, tbh...

samandi I do think it is creepy though because I am probably a different generation to you. Back in the olden days it just wasn't common practice, and although I shave my legs I do think being totally hairless is very unnatural.

BunBaker - I suspect we may be of a similar age...

It also doesn't seem very hygenic either (to me).

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 14/06/2012 20:57

It's not unhygienic to have hair. If we shaved our heads our scalps would be cleaner, but personally if I wash my hair every day that is sufficient for hygiene, as is washing my bits daily. Admittedly a bit of a trim does make things look a little neater and me feel a little fresher, but a full Hollywood makes it look like a plucked turkey IMO, and it's a shame that is starting to become the norm. I also think it is ridiculous when men remove all their hair from there. It looks weird and plucked! Blush

It's hygienic to have pubes. Humans grow them around places that things can get in, as a barrier to things that can cause infection - around soft moist areas and entrances to the body.

Back in the day...I dont think things like that really mattered. Men couldnt give two bloody hoots.
