I bought 'Bed Head' 'Dumb Blonde' Hmm shampoo and conditioner and leave in conditioner, after discussing my hair type with the shop assistant, I spent £32- THIRTY TWO POUNDS!!!!!! Shock

It is rank- its really greasy and wont wash out properly. I have now looked at on-line reviews and this is a common complaint

I expect a refund, but am expecting shop to say they wont give me one as shampoo and conditioner have been opened and used....and it isnt their fault it doesnt suit my hair type

what do you think?

Take it back. Where did you buy it?

WhiteWidow · 06/06/2012 13:06

It's your fault for spending 32 quid on it. :/

I'm a regular user of the TIGI Bed Head products and their fine for me.

Latara · 06/06/2012 13:07

I have had to return expensive products in the past due to sensitivity etc. Just go back & be honest (polite, yet assertive). They should give the money back.

shineypenny · 06/06/2012 13:08

I think they will say exactly what you predict they will say.
I think you will be better off writing a letter of complaint to the manufacturer (or even packeging it up and returning it to the manufacturer - send it recorded delivery).

shineypenny · 06/06/2012 13:09

*packaging

thatisall · 06/06/2012 13:09

just take it back and politely explain the issues, they should give you your money back

chugginalong · 06/06/2012 13:10

Just say you think there must be something wrong with it as your hair got dirtier and greasier when you used it.

WhiteWidow · 06/06/2012 13:10

I'll doubt they'll take it back, it's not like it's an issue with the product it's probably more your hair suiting it.

Many hairdressers used it as their main product, including Toni & Guy

Icelollycraving · 06/06/2012 13:12

They aren't obliged to refund you. They will probably do it if you are polite & have a receipt.

boredandrestless · 06/06/2012 13:12

I wouldn't say it's not suitable for your hair - I'd say you are concerned its a dodgy batch for following reasons. Do you have receipt still?

LeeCoakley · 06/06/2012 13:18

Please tell me £32 was for a box of 20. Shock
Who in their right mind spends more than £2? It's just water with some cleaning ingredient suspended in a gloop!!

LeeCoakley · 06/06/2012 13:18

Sorry - I realise that didn't help Grin

HecateTrivia · 06/06/2012 13:19

thirty two pounds for shampoo?

For that, I would expect it to gold plate my bob!

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 13:21

I would make the point, politely, that it was recommended for your hair type (you didn't just pick it up), that you are a regular client etc.

They should take it back, even used, as they can still use it in the salon.

annalovesmrbates · 06/06/2012 13:21

I had that stuff once and it was horrid. Buggered up my hair for ages. Take it back!

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 13:21

If they don't you could try the manufacturer or sell it on ebay.

picnicbasketcase · 06/06/2012 13:22

Good lord, and to think I wobble a bit at paying £3.99 for Aussie shampoo. YANBU at all, I'd be flipping annoyed too and they should refund you. But it wouldn't surprise me if they refused to.

And I'll tell you summat else for nowt - Tresemme is shite as well. Not really relevant but it is.

lifesalongsong · 06/06/2012 13:26

Yes, take it back, explain the problem and ask for a refund but maybe be prepared to accept a credit note.

I'd expect most retailers to take it back without a problem, I hope you've still got the receipt.

bejeezusWC · 06/06/2012 13:27

£32 was for the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner, but yes yes...Blush Blush

To be fair to myself...the only thing I spend too much money on is hair stuff and moisturiser. If I dont my hair turns into kindof candy floss...and my skin goes very very red

I need to stop trying out different products and just stick with what I know...why dont I learn?!

Thanks for replies

If you relied upon the expertise of the sales assistant when you made this purchase, I would certainly take it back.

I thought my shampoo was expensive - but it is lovely and does a fantastic job. I would not pay that sort of money for one that leaves your hair as bad as you indicate.

pumpkinsweetie · 06/06/2012 13:30

Oh my days......£32 on shampoo, are you craaaaaaazzzyyy?
The most i have ever spent is about a fiver at most and even then it was no better than £2 ones.
Be polite and ask for your money back-and never spend such silly amounts on shampoo unless your rich of courseGrin

TheHouseOnTheCorner · 06/06/2012 13:31

Not only should you take it back but you should also complain to the manufacturers for their blatant sexist bolocks name for their shitty shampoo! Shock

What if I called my new shampoo "Ginger Minge"?

sayithowitis · 06/06/2012 13:32

here

NettoSuperstar · 06/06/2012 13:34

Take it back.
I spent £30 on Percy and Reed shampoo and conditioner, but only after trying free samples I got from a magazine.
It'd lovely, a one off treat though, and I only use it a couple of times a week so it lasts ages.
I use ordinary stuff from Semichem, or Aldi or wherever in between.
