to take skanky over priced shampoo back to the shop and expect a refund?

bejeezusWC · 06/06/2012 13:05

I bought 'Bed Head' 'Dumb Blonde' Hmm shampoo and conditioner and leave in conditioner, after discussing my hair type with the shop assistant, I spent £32- THIRTY TWO POUNDS!!!!!! Shock

It is rank- its really greasy and wont wash out properly. I have now looked at on-line reviews and this is a common complaint

I expect a refund, but am expecting shop to say they wont give me one as shampoo and conditioner have been opened and used....and it isnt their fault it doesnt suit my hair type

what do you think?

see house I let vanity get the better of me- maybe that is my lesson- dont compromise morals for beauty-maybe I should keep it as a reminder Grin

thanks for the link sayit

my hair is dry and very fine-its a difficult balance cuz stuff for dry hair is too heavy and stuff for fine hair isnt conditioning enough

I want to buy some Ginger Minge.

bejeezusWC · 06/06/2012 13:38

I am going to try and take it back to the shop
and write a letter to the manufacturers as house suggested-complaininng about shit expensive products AND sexist crap

Sometimes it is worth paying more though. Aveda damage remedy is da biz. I panic slightly when I'm close to running pout, it makes my highlighted hair bouncy and swingy.

ForFoxsGlacierMints · 06/06/2012 13:46

It's not really sexist though is it?

I love Tigi Bedhead.

And if you ever wanted to buy more you can get it in TJ Hughes as cheap as regular shampoo.

Chandon · 06/06/2012 13:50

I don't know how you can blame them for it being over priced.

you bought it, without a gun to your head, right?

Now you regret it?

Try to take it back, by all means, but don't blame the shop for the price of it Confused

bejeezusWC · 06/06/2012 13:57

chnadon if I am paying for expensive shampoo, I expect it to make my hair 'nice'

I dont mind paying a bit more for good shampoo and conditioners. i mind paying more and getting crap products

I get expensive shampoos from Cheapsmells website - a fraction of the price.

rocket74 · 06/06/2012 14:10

I have tried

MOP - mainly good - glisten range may suit you
REdken - didnt like at all - fluffy tangled mess
Kiehls - nice smell but left hair fluffy (love their face/body stuff though)
Aveda - leave in stuff - nice

when the pennies are down i always return to either Aussie, Pantene or Umberto Gianni - and none of them ever let me down!!

I think I have learned not to spend mega bucks on hair products.
But if you asked for advice and got the wrong advice then worth taking back or at least an exchange for another range. If your face came out in red welts after spending £30 on a cream you would take it back wouldnt you??

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 06/06/2012 14:11

Home bargains sell the Bernese stuff for ver, ver cheap.

You ave been ripped off.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/06/2012 14:17

I'm sure they should refund you!

I love redken (but their blonde shampoo is also pants) if you want something to brighten your blonde and eradicate brassiness I recommend wella sp silver saver....it is by far the best shampoo for blonde hair!!! It can be slightly drying so make sure you use a great conditioner afterwards like a kerastase one or redken protein conditioner (in the blue bottle).

Tigi shampoos are sold in tk maxx very very cheaply for a reason.

bejeezusWC · 06/06/2012 14:19

ooo..thanks for the tips gurls Grin

Am getting on quite well with Alberto Balsam Blueberry or Coconut shampoo and conditioner which is only £1/ bottle in Tescos! Maybe I will just invest in good leave in conditioner and an intensive one for once a week or summat

Until hair goes mental againi find all is well for a while and then I need to change-maybe season relatedi should just rotate 2 or 3 that I know are usually ok

Only read the op, but I love dumb blonde!

If you want me to take it off your hands......Grin I will be pleased too!

WhiteWidow · 06/06/2012 14:25

Rocket that's hardly the same is it.

Hope you find something that's better for your hair, Bed Head defo isn't for all hair types to be honest because it's rather a thick and gunky product. What's perfect for some isn't for others I suppose

MsKittyFane · 06/06/2012 14:28

I have just bought the new DOVE leave in conditioner spray and my hair has gone from v dry and brittle to v soft.
Not greasy at all. It's lovely.
Approx £4

MsKittyFane · 06/06/2012 14:34

This is taken from their website:

WARNING: You Must Have A Sense Of Humor To Use Our Products. May cause the urge to laugh at the products labels, experiment with different looks and a repeated desire to check yourself out in the mirror. The only thing serious about Bed Head is how freakin' good our products work.

Just run me through WTF you bought this SH* again?! :o

bejeezusWC · 06/06/2012 14:40

haha kitty never again

sales assistant was a young thing.....dont listen to young things!

valiumredhead · 06/06/2012 14:59

Different things suit different people, you just have to be prepared to take the hit if you have spent a lot on the products. I think it's different if you buy them from a salon and they tell you you can take them back if they don't suit you. On the other hand what have you got to lose, you might as well ask but be prepared for them to say no.

I love Tigi products they work really well on my hair.

That old lady's 'Touch of Silver' shampoo is the best for brassiness in blonde hair (I pay a small fortune so no longer have this problem but had bottles of it in my earlier years, fab stuff)

PrematurelyAirconditioned · 06/06/2012 16:41

Depends on the shop - they're not obliged to give you a refund but may well as a goodwill gesture - certainly worth a try.

somedayma · 06/06/2012 16:47

you can't really write to the company to complain and include a complaint about the name, it's not like it somehow changed name after you'd bought it...

LynetteScavo · 06/06/2012 16:51

Hmm....I use this as my bog standard shampoo, and it's fine, the conditioner isn't mega moisturisinmg, but it's OK.

I never spend this much on it though. I get the really big bottles from TKMaxx for £10 each.

Take it back then tell us what they say.......Keratase is lovely if they sell it.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 06/06/2012 17:00

They have John frieda for three for a Tenner at boots ATM.
You could get blonde shampoo, conditioner and some leave in stuff.
They are doing other brands too.
