I think it's the music and him choking back the tears when she leaves for Uni or whatever. I never knew I had a soul Grin

can you post a link?

Annunziata · 05/06/2012 20:52

The bit with the boyfriend made me inexplicably cross Hmm

But I did like it overall!

Rachog · 05/06/2012 20:52

I got all misty eyed at it too.

maddening · 05/06/2012 20:53

got me too - these types of things usually do

irememberthesilverjubilee · 05/06/2012 20:53

These ads like that was it John Lewis at Christmas, make me really depressed at how quickly time goes.
AND NEVER make me want to buy the product !

Onlyaphase · 05/06/2012 20:54

Me too, got all tearful at the speed time goes by.

thebody · 05/06/2012 20:54

Agree with 2 left for uni and 2 still at home it makes me sad too.

MrsHelsBels74 · 05/06/2012 20:55

Gets me every time. I think it's the song more than anything else. I have a toddler at home & can't imagine the day when he'll leave home.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 05/06/2012 20:58

Love the advert... and the music too, which I now have.

PorkyandBess · 05/06/2012 20:58

I love that ad.

My mum and dad did the same for me.

But my car was a Metro Blush

I love this ad. Made DH sit and watch it and he snivelled noticeably too (2 at uni here, and 2 teenage girls). It makes you remember when you could keep them safe with sun cream and warm jumpers.... Now it's boys and cars........

NowThenWreck · 05/06/2012 21:07

YABVU.
He buys his 18 year old daughter a brand new Polo!
Spoilt caah!
I didn't even get bus fare!

Nobhead · 05/06/2012 21:12

Oh god Tory I am sobbing at that now Angry Wink
I have a nearly 4 year old DS, I got all teary today when nursery handed me his last photo of him in a little cap and gown graduating from nursery. I will be gutted when he leaves to got to school in September. Sad
He is growing up so quickly, breaks my heart.

Yes, that and the advert where the dad is emailing the daughter throughout her life.

But I am 34+ weeks pregnant, so most things are emotional at the moment!

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 05/06/2012 21:20

I HATE this advert.
I want to throw things at the tv when it comes on.

Nobhead · 05/06/2012 21:21

MrsDeVere have you sold your soul? Wink

Just clicked on the link and had to turn it off 5 seconds in. I'm far too soppy, prob would have had me sobbing for hours!

GodisaDj · 05/06/2012 21:26

Tear in eye everytime it's on.

Dd is only 10 months and I've been reminiscing today about the newborn days and everyone saying how quick it goes.... You don't listen but fuck, it goes quickly! It makes me sad but then dp reminds me what we've done these last 10 months and I feel a bit better.

What the feck will I be like when she leaves home SadConfusedGrin

skirt · 05/06/2012 21:29

That's the in safe hands one? if so, me too. It's horrible waving your grown up kids off into independence.

dementedma · 05/06/2012 21:30

I like it. I wish I had had a father who cared

CheshireDing · 05/06/2012 21:48

I rewound this advert the other day for DH to watch as we have an 8 month old DD. DH thought it was lovely but said she won't be getting a new car as DH is a Nurse Grin

Reminded me of the John Lewis' advert too which had our dog in the kennel at the end (not our ACTUAL dog you undersand)

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 05/06/2012 21:50

No Nob.
Sorry I should have mentioned.
My DD died 6 years ago. My fault. I just saw your thread title and posted furiously Blush
I hate all of these fecking adverts and there are quite a few of them about.
