To think that the concert should not be headline news

enimmead · 04/06/2012 22:52

Because we've just seen it and there are other things happening in the world?

Please don't let it dominate the news.

WorraLiberty · 04/06/2012 22:54

Why not?

There are always other things happening in the world.

This is a once in a lifetime event.

AgentZigzag · 04/06/2012 22:54

News agenda innit?

What story would you rather take it's place?

I thought the concert was great, with all the doom and gloom in the world itsnice to see people being happy and enjoying themselves

cantspel · 04/06/2012 22:57

I would rather the concert be headline news than another murder, bomb iin the middle east or air disaster

enimmead · 04/06/2012 22:57

Ok - headline news but for how long will it go on for?

It's a good time to bury bad news.

I'm watching tv from middle of nowhere in France - missed most of the concert, and only got to see the news.

AgentZigzag · 04/06/2012 23:00

The people who set the news agenda don't really need a jubilee to bury bad news though do they?

squeakytoy · 04/06/2012 23:00

oh get over yourself, it is the biggest event happening in this country at the moment, and people all around the world are watching it too!

I suppose we can igmore drone strikes in Pakistan, Syrian rebels not recognising the peace agreement, suicide bomber in a Nigerian church, 100 people injured in Baghdad, 23rd anniversary of Tianeman square with 100s of activists being jailed, stockmarket falls around world, Turkish women complaining about abortion changes.

Because we hear it everyday.

OP posts:
trixymalixy · 04/06/2012 23:02

Eh?

AgentZigzag · 04/06/2012 23:03

Sometimes it's nice to see something a lot of people see as positive from this country enimmead.

enimmead · 04/06/2012 23:03

OK - 10 mins.

I can live with that.

Sits back and enjoys Biscuit

There is other media to look at world news as a suggestion, you could always look at those and turn the TV off

SaggyCeratops · 04/06/2012 23:05

Oh sod off you bloody misery guts! Is the news only allowed to be bad then? Millions of people have found a sense of community and national pride, in order to come together to celebrate. That's something to be proud of. Why shouldn't it be news?

enimmead · 04/06/2012 23:05

IABU

Chubfuddler · 04/06/2012 23:05

The news looks pretty miserable to me.

Sirzy · 04/06/2012 23:06

Let's have the good news first for a change. There is enough misery going on its nice to have a positive thing and a chance to celebrate

AgentZigzag · 04/06/2012 23:06

('IABU')

(Put up more of a fight than that enimmead! Grin)

AppleCrumbleAndFish · 04/06/2012 23:06

I didn't watch the concert so it was nice to see a summary on the news. I'm sure I wasn't the only one.
