To think that the concert should not be headline news

Because we've just seen it and there are other things happening in the world?

Please don't let it dominate the news.

Still think a lot of important stuff got missed out - but that's why I've got the internet.

Trust me - that summary did not reflect that concert - you can get a true flavour here

Hehe, that thread's hardly an objective, representative sample though is it??

Noqontrol · 04/06/2012 23:10

Get over yourself. It was bloody brilliant. Nice to have something to celebrate for a change. So, tough!

HRH2shoesofMn · 04/06/2012 23:10

yabu

enimmead · 04/06/2012 23:12

That thread was fantastic - and how can you call MN not representative :)

And I'm not talking about the concert which had its moments - I'm just concerned that things in the news got missed out due to its dominance of the news (half the time)

OP posts:
Noqontrol · 04/06/2012 23:17

I'm sure that anything of importance will still be reported Hmm

MyRoyalLentillyness · 04/06/2012 23:22

Yeah - well here's some breaking news for ya -

Syria will still be there tomorrow unfortunately

There will be another suicide bomber in Nigeria or Baghdad or anywhere sadly

The economy will still be in crisis and the stockmarket is always falling somewhere

Shall I go on or are we all miserable enough? A bit of concert is a good thing in my book!

wannabeamillionaire · 04/06/2012 23:25

yabu. watched some of the concert thought it was really nice actually. This is a part of our history. Will not see this again in my lifetime. When there is so much crap going on in the world I thought it was nice to see a bit of happiness and the country uniting again

You can't blame me for being miserable.

I'm a Republican - doesn't that go with the territory :)

Still watched the concert and pageant - as it is history.

It's been a very confusing few days.
I even feel sorry for the Queen and recognise the duty she has done.

I'm a republican, yes i do think that some of it was cringeworthy but it meant alot to millions of people, and as the biggest thing going on at the moment then yes YABU.

enimmead · 04/06/2012 23:38

Is there a IKIABU button on here or do these threads go on :)

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 04/06/2012 23:45

Question: Does something have to be terrible and bad to be deemed newsworthy?

New Year is always the headline news...

galletti · 04/06/2012 23:45

I think YABU. We need some good news, and it was truly good. Our Country enjoying themselves, and forgetting everything else for a few hours/a couple of days And I think all those people in the Mall tonight would think you wre BU too! Have some fun, and worry about everything else on Wednesday if you want.

galletti · 04/06/2012 23:46

Oh and that whole Republican thing - forget that too and celebrate being British

enimmead · 04/06/2012 23:48

Okey dokey :)

Nobody'll read your subsequent posts as the thread gets to pages long enimmead Grin

Your flaming will carry on into next week now Grin

AgentZigzag · 04/06/2012 23:50

(maybe singing the second verse of the national anthem will show how dedicated you are?)

enimmead · 04/06/2012 23:52

What else can I do to show penance?

OP posts:
PrincessFiorimonde · 04/06/2012 23:57

OP, I haven't turned on the news tonight since the concert started, because I suspected I might feel like you. I had already got annoyed at the 6 o'clock news reporting the setting up of the concert as the top story in the world.

So, in my opinion, YANBU.

I agree with AgentZigzag, though - you didn't put up much of a fight, and now you will be flamed for it anyway. Grin

AgentZigzag · 05/06/2012 00:17

There's just no sport in it is there Princess? Grin

bogeyface · 05/06/2012 00:29

enimmead How would you feel about joining me in partnership to open a republican tea room? We will play the Sex Pistols "God Save The Queen" at 3pm everyday and kick out anyone who doesnt get into the mosh pit :o

Mrsjay · 05/06/2012 00:51

they did report other news though it wasnt all the concert and it had just finished and it is news,
