DH is blaming me for a wasted hour round trip because I took his card out of his trouser pocket to buy pizza last night....

Before anyone accuses me of theft I would like to point out that DH was in the trousers at the time and fully aware of the removal.

You both cocked up. HTH.

SirSugar · 04/06/2012 16:41

the best of relationships always get into difficulty in IKEA

Sirzy · 04/06/2012 16:42

I never check my card is in my purse, just assume it is.

Why did you not give it back to him as soon as you had finished with it?

Sounds like it was just one of those frustrating things really. No point getting upset about it.

HappyCamel · 04/06/2012 16:42

Umm, well I never leave the house without money but neither does DH so both of us going shopping without money would never happen.

thatisall · 04/06/2012 16:42

pahaaa oh dear!!! He's only blaming you because he feels stupid. Did you have your card?? I'd be gutted after an hour in IKEA!!

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 04/06/2012 16:42

I think you should have put it back of given it to him. If a card is normally in a certain place, I might not check before I left home. That said, nobody did anything on purpose, so blaming each others isn't really helpful

nymets · 04/06/2012 16:42

I always make sure i have my card, dps card and the credit card before going to ikea

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 04/06/2012 16:43

Put it back or given it to him

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 04/06/2012 16:43

Oh yes, I always make sure I have dp's card before going to IKEA :o

Sidge · 04/06/2012 16:45

I can beat that. I drove to Ikea (30 mins) then realised I had forgotten my whole bag so had to grovel to the parking man so I could get out of the car park as I had no money to pay for parking.

Then when DH and I did manage to make the return trip (the first time we had ever been) we nearly ended up divorced as we hadn't realised that Ikea is the commercial equivalent of Hotel California.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow · 04/06/2012 16:46

YABU not to put something back where you got it from?

DizzyKipper · 04/06/2012 16:47

Since I always leave my card in the same place, no I probably wouldn't check. If DH removes the card then the onus is on him to return it, and yes I do get annoyed if he forgets to. Since he was wearing the trousers at the time though I think you're both at fault.

LineRunner · 04/06/2012 16:47

Joint cock up. How you will laugh one day. Wah ha ha. Like that.

Surprised you only have one card between the two of you, though. But then I'm in danger of becoming a sanctimonious knobber right this minute because my kitchen tv won't pick up the Murray tennis match CHEERS FUCKING FREEVIEW so if you really want to tell someone to fuck the fuck off, you can tell me and get it out of your system.

Always HTH Smile

Trills · 04/06/2012 16:48

YABU to think that someone would check inside their wallet to see if the card was there.

You (collectively) should have put the card back in the usual place after getting pizza.

Next time either pay for the pizza yourself or get him to order it.

entropygirl · 04/06/2012 16:48

I would like to point out that I am not anywhere near Ikea...I am at work. So my having the card or my own means of funding is irrelevant. I would not be surprised if he isn't even wearing the same trousers....so putting it back isn't really the issue either.

Normal people have wallets don't they?

OP posts:
LineRunner · 04/06/2012 16:50

Oh, he went on his own? Wasn't clear.

MrsHelsBels74 · 04/06/2012 16:50

I never check I have my card before I go out as I always assume it's in my purse...has led to a few embarrassing moments in shops but I still don't learn!

ripsishere · 04/06/2012 16:51

My DH doesn't have a wallet, I have no idea where he keeps his cards. I know he has them. I assume his pocket and he transfers them as he changes trousers.

thatisall · 04/06/2012 16:51

entropy ....one word.....men Wink

entropygirl · 04/06/2012 16:51

trills ahha I inadvertently answered your point I think....the card is usually on the loose in his trousers...

so while I wouldn't check if the card was in my wallet...I would check if my wallet was in my trousers...he is missing the middle step on account of not having a wallet.....or a brain.

OP posts:
entropygirl · 04/06/2012 16:52

thing is...he does this regularly with s'burys with absolutely no interference from me....I think the pizza is a smoke screen....

OP posts:
entropygirl · 04/06/2012 16:54

line oh is Murray playing? that explains the funny feeling I have in my stomach....I will happily tell your freeview to fuck off!

OP posts:
LineRunner · 04/06/2012 16:57

Yes, Murray's just started his match.

If I go into the other room to watch I won't have the PC to post crap on MN. So hard to choose.

entropygirl · 04/06/2012 17:00

I am sure it should have been possible for me to buy the stuff over the phone and then let my dh pick it up....but hey.
