DH is blaming me for a wasted hour round trip because I took his card out of his trouser pocket to buy pizza last night....

Before anyone accuses me of theft I would like to point out that DH was in the trousers at the time and fully aware of the removal.

I can only afford Homebase this year. IKEA looks quite nice.

entropygirl · 04/06/2012 17:22

hmm see I liked the look of one in homebase at half the price of the ikea one...but for some reason only the ikea one will do.....

the really annoying thing is that it wont even fit in our car....so he has to go back there, buy it then pay the feckers 25 quid to deliver it too....

Ikea and relationships never belong in the same sentence lol.

Always check my card is there as both me and dh uses each other cards

LineRunner · 04/06/2012 17:31

I got a bed and a wardrobe at Homebase this year. The bed is fine. The other, not so good. It lists, sea-shanty style, at an odd angle.

Also you can order online :)

valiumredhead · 04/06/2012 17:33

I would be very cross if my dh had used my debit card and not put it back exactly where it was!

ErikNorseman · 04/06/2012 17:34

Yabbu (both)
If DH borrows my card I expect him to return it. If he forgets and leaves it in his pocket he's in trouble! My card is always in my wallet so I would always assume that's where it is if I went out.

entropygirl · 04/06/2012 18:40

hmmm still not sure what having the card in the trousers he is definitely not wearing today would have done for him.....

but i take the point....

although I maintain it is a good idea to check you have money before going shopping...

If it had been in his trousers, would he have taken it out of his trousers when he went to bed and then put it in today's trousers this morning?

I can't really get my head around this "no wallet" thing, Buy him a wallet for his next birthday.

GreenEggsAndNichts · 04/06/2012 18:52

sorry but no, I would not check my wallet to see if my debit card was there before going to Ikea. Unless my partner had a habit of liberating it and leaving it elsewhere, of course.

Wait. Now I see that he just... has a free-floating debit card, and no wallet. I take it back. What the hell. :)

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 04/06/2012 18:55

In a weird reversal of this, I took DHs credit card out of my pocket (where I had it after also ordering Pizza last night) and gave it back before I went to IKEA this morning - going there to work though, not shop, as no sensible in-their-right-minds person would shop in IKEA on a Bank Holiday oh god it was hell and full of screaming babies and grumpy couples and why oh why were you there

BikeRunSki · 04/06/2012 19:04

I can beat you all. I once drove about 200 miles in a hire car for work, filled it up and then realised I had left my purse and bag at home. I had no money, cards or ID. I rang my mum from the petrol station and asked for her to pay for my fuel over the phone with her credit card, but the petrol station wasn't having that. They did however accept my promise that I would send them a cheque as soon as I got home, which I did.
