There are some very sneery sounding people on this thread. Don't want to enjoy this, not interested in that, bored by this, hate that.....

I know what people will say - that it costs a lot of money, the country is in a mess, I didn't vote for it, no one asked me blah blah blah.

NamesKerry · 03/06/2012 22:49

it may cost money, but the amount of revenue that both events have brought to many british businesses is much needed..

hotels, shops, pubs, restaurants that are all feeling the pinch of the recession are being kept afloat by tourism related to both the jubilee and the olympics

MsVestibule · 03/06/2012 23:03

Ditto GML's post. To the earlier poster - please don't call me thick because our views differ. I'm having a jubilee party (republicans welcome) and believe it or not, I'm relatively well educated. Well, definitely not thick, anyway.

WorraLiberty · 03/06/2012 23:12

No and no. Both pointless and a waste of money. Everyone I've met that does care has been quite thick.

So you know some thick people...I'd change your circle of friends if I were you.

  1. Yes - and I never thought I'd say that but since the Royal wedding I've really warmed to the Queen and the younger Royals.
  1. Yes - and I never thought I'd say that either but living in London has made it all the more exciting for me somehow.
