Tinkerisdead · 03/06/2012 22:16

No and no

Nor euro 2012 either!

cricketballs · 03/06/2012 22:17

yes to both! Wanted to apply for tickets, but the system of taking money out no matter what meant that we didn't dare as May last year was already going to be a very expensive month that we didn't dare to apply in case we were successful! We didn't have any spare cash either when they became available again a few weeks ago. I am gutted that the once in a life time chance for DC to go to an Olympic event with ease and we haven't managed it (might get down there for the marathon!)

The jubilee - what not to celebrate? It is not just the fact our Head of State has been a successful ambassador for all these years, it is also a chance to celebrate being British without anyone saying that we shouldn't admit to being proud of being British as its not PC.....

Jubilee:absolutely, been to the flotilla today, card carrying buntinger, well up everytime her maj is on. God love ya ma'am.

Olympics: I am, but it's a faith thing. I want it to go well.

Here's the thing, after the flotilla today I have to say if we don't lift our game we are buggered. 1. If you're hiring thousands of stewards make sure they know what they're doing or they're just a waste of time. 2. If TFL and I'm looking at you London Bridge station don't get their shit together it's going tuts up.

Treat today as a dress rehearsal because dear God if it was the to be fucked up, by god it was.

yellowraincoat · 03/06/2012 22:30

Jubilee: nah, not bothered, like the days off and the boats, but the actual concept, nah.

Olympics: I like watching it on telly, the fact that it's in London doesn't seem to make a massive difference. So a sort of yes/no hybrid.

xkcdfangirl · 03/06/2012 22:31

Threeprinces · 03/06/2012 22:33
  1. Yes
  2. Not really
BellaOfTheBalls · 03/06/2012 22:34

Yes & yes.

Jubilee because regardless of your feelings on the monarchy anyone who does the same job full time for 60 years deserves a fucking big party.

Olympics because I love the spectacle of it all and the achievement. I wonder if the people who moan about it would moan if it was being held in Paris or Mexico or Azerbaijan. And when the decision was made to host them here austerity measures, credit crunch and economic downturn were not on the agenda.

And these people who complain are probably not considering the amount of money visitors for these events will pump back into the economy.

yousankmybattleship · 03/06/2012 22:34

and a big fat NO!!!
