Diet - bleurgh. Those sweeterers and nasty! I drank loads of raspberry lemonade and pineapple crush as a child and I'm still ok. I ate so much rubbish as a kid (even Campbells neat balls - we were a simpler people back in the 70s!).

Still, I don't give DS coke very often as I don't want him to have a taste for sweet fizz. He doesn't ask for it often - just at parties - so its not a big problem. He can't finish a whole can. I don't have it much either, and never buy any for home. It has to be ice cold from a glass bottle.

I don't really care what the Rooneys do. I shan't be copying them!

I think she stays in the marriage for the sake of the child bank balance.

"food Nazi"? Really? Giving Diet coke to a toddler is NOT a reasonable thing to do. I know some children aren't keen on drinking water but they will if they're hot and thirsty. She's his mum -she should be making good choices for him while she still has influence over him.

My son had some coca cola at my wedding last spring. A couple of childless people were so outraged they told me I was an awful mother for doing so.

Funny thing is I regularly give him medication which could cause deafness, liver damage and kidney failure. So actually coca cola isn't on our banned list and the people who confronted me at my wedding really went down in my estimations.

Also he might have beeb thirsty because of the weather and diet cole would be better than nothing.

Best one I have seen is a 3yo going into nursery swigging in a can of Red Bull ( was sugar free though) a toddler in red bull!!???
