for wanting people to follow the rules

i am really annoyed with this. i moved from my last home for my neighbours parking their vehicles in our spaces and it got really nasty. we have since moved to a new development where there are set rules about what you can and cant do re: parking and vehicke types its ones of the reasons i bought the house. My new neighbours are basically flouting them even though they have been warned by the developer.

aibu to expect for people follow the rules that are set, and not take the piss.

its been handed to the solicitors now i hope this can be resolved ir ill be moving again.

Lol so 2 vans make it an industrial site? I'm guessing these vans are works vehicles so would you rather they didn't work just so you don't have to look at their vehicle?

LentillyFart · 21/05/2012 18:24

Have you got many friends in the neighbourhood OP? Grin

fuckarama · 21/05/2012 18:25

ScarlettAlexandra I am quite sure that the rules are not a caveat on the mortgage.

Absolutely dead certain.

They may be a covenant on the deeds of the property, but covenants can be lifted (usually by paying a fee)

fuckarama · 21/05/2012 18:27

Apart from anything else, if they were a caveat on the mortgage then they would not run with the land and would extinguish if the property was sold or if the person in the property decided to re-mortgage and the new mortgage company didn't put them in.

The mortgage is the loan between you and the lender who is lending you the money.

It is different to the deeds of the property.

Did I take a wrong turning and find myself in the Twilight Zone? OP YABVU and sound like a snob.

Oh and do tell me where you shop, I will happily park in P&C spaces every day. It will give you something to do, writing to complain.

BadNails · 21/05/2012 18:30

if i wanted to live in an industrial site i would have moved to one

It's not unhinged, but please admit that this is an exaggeration or stick a photo on your profile.

I think I gave you some good advice ^^ but clearly you are only interested in handing out biscuits or acknowledging those who agree with you.

LadyBeagleEyes · 21/05/2012 18:32

I can't believe how petty you are OP.
You sound like the Neighbour from Hell.
In my street (HA) we all had to ask (and got) permission to put up a satellite dish. We live in a street of 10 houses, all newish builds, and we don't get normal telly.
Every single one of us has a dish.
Why do you care if they have a van?
I don't know a lot about KL, but I bet there'll be someone that pisses you off.
So good luck with that.

EXmrsmascarahead · 21/05/2012 18:33

Is it only me that wants to know where the OP lives and park a minibus there?

fuckarama · 21/05/2012 18:34

Scarlett - what do you do all day?

Other than look out the window at the vans and the satellite dishes, that is?

ScarlettAlexandra · 21/05/2012 18:36

so if i get this right, every one should ignore all rules created on new properties, and let the development look like a council estate.

call me a snob i don't care i have worked hard for what i have. and don't want it ruined by others. i speak regularly to my other neighbours. I'm not the only one who thinks like i do.

There are some lovely council estates around.
What do you mean by 'Looking like a Council Estate'? Confused

Sirzy · 21/05/2012 18:41

Scarlett do you not think everyone else living there has worked hard to be there to? And for a lot of people that work involves using a van!

ScarlettAlexandra · 21/05/2012 18:42

Most private estates contain a certain amount of social housing, actually, so technically you probably do live amongst council tenants.

You sound like an awful snob who'd find something to complain about even if there weren't a van parked across the road. I sincerely hope they read this and fly tip a sofa on your doorstep :o

Your life would be "ruined" by a couple of vans and a satellite dish? Seriously? "Ruined" because a couple of your neighbours are trying to earn a living and need a van to do it, and want to watch a bit of Premier League or Formula 1 in their leisure time?

Words fail me...
