I have kept quiet over the last few months not from any wish to be mysterious but because feck all has happened.

Well I say nothing has happened, the neighbours are now living in the bungalow and their house is occupied by a bewildering array of people. They are fairly quiet in the house but do many annoying things outside including talking on mobiles early in the morning and late at night and having sex in cars.

Anyway, got a letter from planning today telling me that planning permission for the mahoooosive fence they put up after they did all the annoying, noisy and intrusive building work, (the bastards) has been REFUSED.

Yes REFUSED! This is in no small part to the amazing letter written for me by MrsMarjoribanks. I can just picture their faces when they received it, their bemused looks as they tried to marry up the vision of ME with the letter in front of them Grin

So the fecking feckers have to take down their ugly fecking 10 foot fence.
I hope they dont, I hope they continue to think they can get away with anything they like, thus drawing more attention to themselves and getting their just desserts. SO NER!

mrs dv do you not have a friend who could knock on next door and ask about renting a room...all casual like Grin

TalkinPeace2 · 01/06/2012 19:22

sallying one is only on the electoral roll if one is British AND one has done the form AND they have updated the roll which they currently do in January
chances are many many people in Mrs DeV's area are not on it.

mousymouse
the tenancies are FAR more likely to be word of mouth, cash in hand, no gas safe cert etc etc

LIZS you can only claim HB if you are eligible for benefits - which rules out many of the people I listed for sally's point

Actually Mrs DeV
lateral thinking - yup - go for the hose pipe : ANYTHING to get other parts of officialdom involved
also might be worth reporting them to the gas safe register - they set their evidence bar t prevent people dying of carbon monoxide poisoning so don't take guff from tenants or landlords

BUT
try to enjoy the Jubilee weekend - 4 days off before the Olympic congestion starts !

not correct, everyone who is a (legal) uk resident has to be on the electoral roll. this doesn't mean you are allowed to vote, though.

TalkinPeace2 · 01/06/2012 20:22

Mousy
as an immigrant and an auditor of electoral Rolls I have to UTTERLY disagree with you
I sign our household form but have NEVER put myself on it.
the electoral roll is a list of those entitled to vote
I am registered to vote in another country - the one I have a passport for

it does not, has not and NEVER will include foreigners

MousyMouse · 01/06/2012 21:02

talking
I'm an immigrant as well and am on the electoral roll and vote for certain elections. have just read a bit, so citizens of the EU and Commonwealth countries can (and should) be on the roll.

TalkinPeace2 · 01/06/2012 21:19

indeed - but lots and lots of us do not fall into those categories and are committing a criminal offence if we put ourselves on

not being on the roll is NOT relevant to rights to live here or own property here - the high end property market would be nadgered if that was the case

thelittlestkiwi · 01/06/2012 21:35

Mrs DV, I'm aghast at this. It sucks, it really does.

What do the neighbours on the other side think?

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/06/2012 22:22

Unfortunately they are utterly bonkers.
So not very helpful.

thelittlestkiwi · 02/06/2012 01:20

Bugger. Oh, well, maybe you can blame them for calling the hosepipe police.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 02/06/2012 07:54

Woke up to the news that Pickles wants to make life easier for back yard gymgalow builders.

Just cannot believe the problems you are having with this, Mrs DV. It is just sickening. I have no planning advice so my only contribution is to suggest you take heaps and heaps of photos of the fuckers as evidence. Also agree report hosepipe and I wonder if there is anything around noise pollution with them using phones outside your window?

heartshapedskull · 05/06/2012 12:20

I'd email the enforcement section to remind them that the use of the gym as overspill accommodation should be regularly monitored to ensure the use doesn't become fully residential and separate from the main house ~(seeing as they don't seem to think its in a separate use at the moment). That's not harassment - thats what an enforcement officer is supposed to do. If no joy, send copies of your letters/email to the ombudsman - he won't change any decision, but will comment if he thinks there has been lazy planning

bestegg · 05/06/2012 12:22

Do you have the house owners phone number? Try googling that and also the house address in a separate web searches. That way, any adverts using those details will be pulled up, not just those on specific websites.

Also, report them to their mortgage lender for letting the house out, as if they do not have a landlords mortgage this can be classed as fraud and the mortgage loan recalled.

bubby64 · 08/06/2012 21:40

I can be of no help here, except support you and cheer from the sidelines

Jins · 09/06/2012 09:14

I've been really busy this week and haven't had a lot of time to search through cases but I haven't turned anything useful up yet.

I think that all you can do is gather evidence at this stage. Your LPA is taking a very hands off approach but will have to act if you provide evidence. It's a nuisance but you really are the best person to do it.

I'll keep looking through the journals though

Bobyan · 25/07/2012 22:25

Just wondering how you're doing Mrs Dv? There's just been something on the BBC news about slum housing, it sounded a bit like your neighbours...

geegee888 · 26/07/2012 00:21

If they're so annoying, wouldn't it be better to have them blocked out by the massive fence though?
