To wonder how Hagrids mum and dad did the nasty?

Re-reading The Goblet of Fire to keep up with DD2's questions!

Hagrid - Half giant, half human.

Hagrids Dad - "Tiny little man" There is reference to a photo of an 8 foot Hagrid at age 11 towering over his very small father.

Hagrids Mum - Giantess of about 20 feet tall or so.

Assuming his dad was only "tiny" by giant standards, and he was actually 6 foot tall that still leaves a difference of 14 ish feet. And of course, we have to take into account the difference in size of genitalia, and the fact that giants are well known to be violent and aggresive.

So, tell me how it was done!

just imagine the other way around... ouch.

WhatEverItIsIDidntDoIt · 15/05/2012 19:38

Hagrids dad climbed inside hagrids mum then had a wank!

Simple!

DoesItWearingWellies · 15/05/2012 21:32

But how did he not suffocate? Or did he crawl in backwards so his head was still hanging out? I'd imagine it'd be like being inside a wet, warm sleeping bag Envy

yummytummy · 15/05/2012 21:42

interesting, wd agree with the same size lying down thing.

actually, one thing that has always disturbed me along similar lines is that why is kung fu pandas dad a crane/bird thing? i know he is adopted etc but wouldnt u adopt the same species? and throughout the film kids etc are all meant to accept this? it really bothers me!

snoopyplaystennis · 15/05/2012 21:43

I wondered the same about the donkey and the dragon in shrek, how on earth?

bogeyface · 15/05/2012 21:46

I think Donkey was drunk and then it was a case of "big dog/little dog" she loved him so wouldnt have done the old "is it in yet?" thing :o

Bogey, I have had a rotten evening and this has cheered me up so much.

Thanks :o

snoopyplaystennis · 15/05/2012 22:02

They have such a happy marriage though, do you think she fakes it every time? Or is Donkey a cuckold?

bogeyface · 15/05/2012 22:04

No, I think she loves him and is happy to accept a less than ideal sex life, right up until he left her for a while....I went off him then and so did she! But then she took him back without a word! I lost respect for Dragon when she did that.

Happy to help Babooshka!

I wondered this too. Best just to think of it as a big plot hole.

snoopyplaystennis · 15/05/2012 22:07

I don't think she wants to be a single mum to triplets and actually thinking about it who would be having sex after triplets anyway, they probably fall into bed at night covered in baby sick and pass out.

It is the pontypines I feel really sorry for, sleeping in separate beds in the same room as their numerous offspring, they must never get it on.

DoesItWearingWellies · 15/05/2012 22:26

yummy Kung Fu Panda 2 explins it more - Po appeared in a crate of radishes that were delivered to the noodle restaurant and the crane kept him.

bogeyface · 15/05/2012 22:33

Po appeared in a crate of radishes that were delivered to the noodle restaurant and the crane kept him.

Oh wow! I got my eldest 2 like that! the third was in a box of carrots, but we dont mention it.

OP posts:
yummytummy · 15/05/2012 22:36

oh i see, but didnt the crane think he should find some other panda bears to give him too? and why didnt he already have his own family? you can see i have spent/wasted many hours pondering this!

DoesItWearingWellies · 15/05/2012 23:14

Can't remember why the crane kept him, perhaps because he's so cute?

All the pandas were killed by the peacock and his wolf army so Po is the only panda in China :( (or is he? Oo-er!) and his mother hid him so he wouldn't get killed and he went on an epic journey to end up in a radish crate destined for the crane's noodle restaurant.

DoesItWearingWellies · 15/05/2012 23:15

And here's a belated spoiler warning for those who have yet to see Kung Fu Panda 2 Grin Blush

bogeyface · 15/05/2012 23:53

Wow, doesit that is rather Biblical isnt it? Like Moses.....how odd...and yet I can see it in the first film now!

Am I the only one thinking artificial insemination?

bogeyface · 16/05/2012 00:57

A 20 foot aggressive and violent giant and a kind caring 6 foot man.

I just dont see them in Dr Robert Winstons clinic, atleast not together!

And I just checked and the mum buggered off when Hagrid was 3 so they lived together for atleast 4 years.

The more I look at it the more I think that Hagrids dad had a giant fetish and used magic/potions to get her to go along with it!

Just seen this thread on the weekly email....I am also a little confused about something along the same lines.
Twilight....how could Edward and Bella "do the deed" (and indeed her get pregnant)?
He's a vampire, with no blood as I understand it. You need blood to get an erection.
Baffled.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/06/2014 17:48

The eternal question... I have wondered this since about 1999 - still no further on...

LollipopViolet · 27/06/2014 17:56

Sorry, I'm still trying to get my brain around Shire horse/Shetland pony... Shock

How the heck would THAT happen?!

thankcrunchieitsfriday · 27/06/2014 19:08

What about the centaurs????? Half man, half horse... onethinks JK has a bit of a theme going on here!! Shock I mean, something very wrong has gone on in that family hasn't it???!!! And they're in the best of children's fiction - CS Lewis has them in Narnia as well! Maybe the clue is in the author's name - 2 initials and a surname - it must be a sign! Hmm

BertieBotts · 27/06/2014 19:15

The head in the fire floo thing is the wizarding equivalent of a telephone. Landlines, anyway. They probably didn't see a need for any instant, anywhere contact, muggles didn't for ages and wizards tend to be a bit old fashioned.
