I'm skint. Really really skint. Today in town I've somehow managed to lose my DS's 2 favourite toys, a Lamaze 'all ears' elephant and a Nuby twister teether rattle, which were fastened together and clipped to his pram. I bought both of these at an out-of-town shopping centre which I can't even afford the train fare to at the minute, no shops in my city sell these (that I know of) even if I had money to buy replacements. DS hasn't realised they're missing yet, but I'm dreading it as he particularly loves that bloody elephant and has had it since he was 6 weeks old. I feel like crying, AIBU?

No you're not. Poor you Sad I hope he'll accept an alternative toy that you have already as his new fave?

purplewithred · 10/05/2012 14:30

No, you deserve a good cry. Life can be shitty. Go for it. Then mop up, pick yourself up and soldier on.

Callisto · 10/05/2012 14:33

Can you afford to buy one on Ebay?

MissFaversham · 10/05/2012 14:34

Oh OP. It's shit sometimes isn't it

Sod it... and a x too

EightiesChick · 10/05/2012 14:35

have PM'd you

Birnamwood · 10/05/2012 14:47

What does the teether look like? I seem to ave accumulated hundreds of the buggers and I could see if I've got one and post it to you

featherbag · 10/05/2012 14:58

Thank you so much to those who have PM'd and offered replacements, a lovely Mumsnetter (who I shan't name in case it wouldn't be welcomed) is sending DS a new elephant. I feel like the shittest mum in the world not being able to replace a £7 toy, and hope to be able to pass on the favour one day. Birnamwood I think it's the Tommee Tippee Puzzle Teether, don't know where I got nuby from!
